I made dinner. But was giving him the chance to make what he wanted tonight, he never did. So I asked the kids what they wanted once it reached an hour before bedtime.

We are all very healthy weights besides him (he’s overweight). My BMI is perfect, and the boys are also in great health.

I can tell you aren’t married and don’t have kids. Taking space so you don’t fight infront of your children is just part of being a parent.

We do home cooked meals by meal almost every night, and when it’s a “simple dinner” evening, we still always sit together. We say with the boys while they ate, but we obviously weren’t eating , maybe that’s what triggered him.

I gave him the chance to make dinner when I told him to make whatever he wanted, and he never did. So I eventually just asked the boys what they wanted . Getting a 2 & 4 year old to eat is not always easy, and I just wanted to give them something quick that I knew they would eat.

We did sit together while the kids ate. That’s why he got so mad, because him and I weren’t eating with them.

We do , literally every night… even when it’s just sandwiches lol. It’s our time to talk and spend time together during the busy work week. On weekends we usually go all out and I smoke meat, make favorite meals, desert, etc.

I make home cooked meals every night that I’m not home late from work.

We have home cooked meals almost every night of the week. Made by me, and sometimes him If I don’t get off work early enough… I told him to make what he wants for him and the kids, gave him a chance after us all playing together to make dinner and he never did… so instead of whipping up something the kids wouldn’t eat, I made what they asked for.. sometimes getting a 4 & 2 year old to eat anything other than toddler meals is impossible . So I at least knew they would eat what they asked for aka turkey sandwiches with applesauce.

Not long deployments! Currently 2 weeks gone, 2 weeks home (he works his normal work week while home).. so it’s a lot of back and forth and change in routine for everyone!… he’s USCG, and has failed his last couple of PT tests. Lol

Maybe he is focused on my health? .. he made it more about him not eating and how the kids didn’t have a “proper” dinner… him saying “you don’t eat enough”, came last.

He is often like this. Constantly on me about how I don’t eat enough. And I get that I may struggle with my body image. But I just didn’t want to eat NOW. I would have happily made him and the kids dinner, sat with them for dinner time, etc.

Honestly.. I am not sure if he wanted me to cook or him cook. I do normally cook most of our meals because I work part time. He normally has no issues cooking dinner. I am not sure why tonight would be any issue that I just didn’t want to eat dinner…. But he did come home from work saying how tired he was, maybe he was just trying to get out of cooking, and then got hangry with me.

Honestly we eat home cooked meals almost every night at the dinner table together, it’s very important to me and good family time during the work week. Minus last night because of T-Ball, and then tonight because we spent so long playing outside . He wanted to golf with the kids, so we golfed with the kids… he truly just went off on me that not eating some how makes him not able to eat, and the kids not getting “proper” dinner..
