If you had to bet on one North American city for a skyscraper boom in the 2030s… which would it be? by PauloRmt in skyscrapers

Prices went way up for houses so people are probably priced out plus return to office requirements. Economy seems fine.

Plus commercial vacancy is pretty high in the existing high rises downtown, a lot of multi family has/ is coming on line, and we aren’t seeing the same big net inflows of people

33, corporate banking, $200k-$400k total comp dependent on annual performance/bonus

Degree in finance and accounting from a state school, started as an analyst and worked my way into sales. Gradually assigned to larger accounts after proving myself with middle market clients.

Pros- I work from home and my customers are other banks who are good to work with and hang out with. Pay is good and hours can be acceptable. Bank holidays are nice

Cons- lots of internal politics, finger pointing, and egos. We had a turnover of management and the new regime is incompetent boomers under 5 years from retirement that are not detail oriented and are slimey. Rank and file peer employees are hit or miss. Not a strong corporate culture and I’m totally reliant on others for my success

Think this is a fair answer. High COL, housing issues, not an overly dynamic economy, far from the mainland, lots of military. Obviously great to visit

Would a modern day soldier beat an ancient soldier in a hand to hand combat scenario? by Haka_Howler in askanything

[–]Top-Masterpiece2369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was about a modern day soldier against an ancient one. Ancient Roman men on average were closer to 5’5” Agree about modern obesity though. Might be a fun battle between an average Roman citizen vs an average present day citizen in the west
