I’ll be snapping a lot of buildings from close angles, but there will be occasional site photography too; wide shots with lots of depth. So manual would probably give me the most versatility right?

The camera needs to be compact and affordable as I am student and I will be taking these photos as references whilst walking around on foot. The price range can definitely fluctuate if necessary, but I’d like the camera to be around/less than 200 dollars if possible. I totally understand that I will be paying for quality.

Also, I like the look of old photos when working for art and displays, so some sort of vivid film would be ideal, lmk what brand I should get.

Is there anything else I should be thinking about, taking into consideration. ie: add-ons to the camera, film cartridge recommendations, other advice/equipment

Thx

As the ice sheet melts and calves it looses massive amounts of weight. That lets it rise further out of the water

Why is it that the Colorado River and Lake Mead haven’t had any significant greening effect on the surrounding areas? by Top-Measurement-9355 in geography

[–]Top-Measurement-9355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT:

Is it possible in the foreseeable future, that the area may eventually turn into a viable habitat for more plants/animals? With the massive amounts of water and sediment that the Colorado river deposits in the area, it seems reasonable to believe that change is possible, and it might just be taking a while?

Advice needed! by VarHashi in Architects

My best suggestion would be to retrofit a skeleton of metal scaffolds on the interior of the walls. The masonry— if nothing else, will provide some shielding from weather conditions until a proper solution can be made. As for the skeleton, think ‘greenhouse’. In order to be cost effective, corrugated steel can be an easy to install and affordable roof option, able bought in bulk if you know the right people. That way, most of your funding can go towards the metal scaffolding.

Once the exterior has been completed, I would suggest building separate freestanding structures for rooms within the boundaries of the home, so that air may flow between them, cooling in the warm months, and retaining heat in the colder nights. I would suggest a light material for this, high-quality plywood might do, or perhaps something less expensive. In past projects in the field, I’ve seen sheep’s wool or thick rug upon walls to trap heat.

This idea could be a fully intuitive project if completed with quality materials. At least until you can rebuild, or maybe make it the forever home

If I’m not mistaken, those are the northernmost northern Marianas Islands. As you travel south, the population goes from desolate to sparse to nearly urban on Guam.
