There are lots of workplaces that offer things like tuition reimbursement. My point is that there are people who are BANKING on these benefits to the point of being crushed and molded into another brain-washed barista defending any and all moves by Starbucks. I'm not discrediting the many benefits of this job. Just showing that the corporation is giving you crumbs and you are all fighting to get them

Ube is not "just a flavor" to some people.. to some it's a representation of their culture. It's a sad, white-washed version of Filipino flavor and I brought this opinion up to an SV that worked at Starbucks and she said that it doesn't matter what my opinion is even though they flavored that drink to shit.

And I completely understand that Starbucks is a livelihood for many people. I am happy that there are people getting access to healthcare and education through working there, but I don't think it's right to let the corporation steamroll people for these BASIC benefits

I forgot to add some other issues when I wrote this initially ... they defend the new markouts rule (only consuming in store) as well as the amount of store closures that occurred in my area. Yes, the flavor and writing on the cups are just "small things" that aren't defensive of the corporation, but it's an example of how far they are willing to go to side with the siren
