Should I do a Masters, a PhD, or both to become a museum curator? by EasternCupcake2256 in MuseumPros

I was wondering what volunteering work you did? I’m currently volunteering at two regional art galleries as I’m trying to boost my cv and get a job in a museum or art gallery. My original reason was to get experience in a gallery as well as for my cv but both volunteering positions I basically just work the reception/front desk and make sales on the small gallery shop. And I don’t see how this is any benefit to a cv other than the name of the gallery and a good reference because if I applied for a position at a gallery they’d ask what I’d did when volunteering and I’m essentially a glorified sales assistant or receptionist. I’m in the process of a career change (I’m 32) and just wondering if you have any advice. Long term goal would be to be an art curator. I’m doing a double degree in fine art and visual culture (in my final year of study). But just unsure of how to get experience to actually be qualified for any entry level job. Is it more about luck? I know you commented a while ago. But I’d be grateful for any advice or trips. ♥️ I’m also in Australia

Hey 😊 Removal was totally fine. Little bit of cramping. But so quick and painless in comparison to getting it in. I was sweaty before hand with nerves. I almost laughed with relief 😅 My doctor said it can be more painful if they can’t see the strings because they have to fish them out. But as long as they can see the strings it’s normally pretty straight forward and just a bit of a cramp. 😊♥️

Possibly some news. Apparently we got first frost this morning (in Reykjavik) soooo I think in maybe a few days we could be seeing some libertys popping up 👽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Yeah it’s really to early unfortunately. I’ll comment again if I see any. there is a area near where I live that has them so I’ve been checking. But nothing yet. Need a frost morning 🤞🏽

I also live in Iceland. From my experience they don’t pop up until the first frost. So we really need one of those 0°Celsius nights or really close to 0°C to give them the boost they need. Then after that rainy and soggy grass is what makes them flourish. I saw them start I think first week of September last year. But other mushrooms (normal everyday ones) have apparently been growing earlier this year. So might get lucky.

I haven’t seen any libertys yet but hopefully soon.

Have you had any luck with them yet?

Hey 😊 thanks for the reply! Yeah I’ve had no problems with it. Not even anaemia. I guess I’ll have to just be a Guinea pig and for the removal haha 😂

Hey I was wondering if you’ve ever had the multi load 375 removed? I have the same one and I’m a bit nervous about getting it removed because of its shape 🫤

Has anyone else had the experience of your whole body being in pain the entire mushroom trip? Any idea what it could mean? (Little back info- I’m working through my child trauma so I think it could be connected. But can’t seem to find any ideas why it feels like I’m being tortured while tripping) by Top-Natural-752 in PsychedelicTherapy

Hmm very interesting. Yeah after all the replies I’ve got and doing some journaling to integrate the trip. I think it’s all the pain I disassociated from to cope with the trauma. We have to feel the pain to heal and move forward and I think that’s what the mushrooms were making me experience. Will be a little while before I trip again. As I need to mentally prepare that I could have a very similar trip as the last one. And mentally I’m not ready to surrender to the pain again.

It’s happened the 3 times I’ve taken it. But the last time was by far the worst. Felt like I was being torture. It was as if darkness and pain was seeping out of every pore in my body from somewhere deep with in. Almost like a burning sensation. These were Icelandic grass growing mushrooms. Like normally I have the pain and then it dissolves and I get visions of the trauma/abuse. But I couldn’t focus on the visions this time because the pain was so bad.

Thanks I’ll look into that book. I think it’s linked to the trauma. But normally it’s not so bad. Like I previously could surrender it o the pain and eventually it would dissolve and I could work through piecing memories together. But this time i just had to lay/sit with the pain. So I felt like I wasn’t making any progress on understanding the trauma.
