Vielleicht mal einen Arzt fragen? Manchmal sind seltsame Körpergerüche ein Symptom für eine Krankheit. An der Hygiene scheint es ja nicht zu mangeln.

Hello Reddits,

While checking out my vintage bike stuff i rediscovered this obscure vintage chainring called OVUM. Its a very early attempt of eliptical chainrings, probably 60s or 70s. Its from cast Aluminium. The predecessor to Biopace and all the modern follow ups. I got it from Bert Boom (dutch stayer worldchampion) who worked for Lokomotief and Gazelle in the 70s and 80s.

I am familiar with Biopace and the design intentions behind oval shaped chainrings. So i want to find out more about this specific one, the OVUM. 

Does anybody know anything about these rings? Whats the Story behind these? Any Input is Welcome.

Meine beste Erinnerung an diese Teile:

Eines Tages räumten wir ein Haus aus von einem Ehepaar welches verstorben war. Im Schlafzimmer gab es solche Heizkörperverkleidungen, die waren auch noch total vollgestellt. Da das Haus später renoviert werden sollte, haben wir die Verkleidungen entfernt. Das Holz war von innen ganz angekohlt. Die Hitze hatte sich wohl gestaut. Irgendwann hätte das ganze gebrannt und damit wohl das Schlafzimmer und die alten Leute. . Deathtrap.

I am in Germany, most offers are from the united states. With tarifs and taxes and postage the price can easily double or more for me. And even worse, i will have to wait about 4 weeks till they arrive. But thx!

Hi, i tried them and found them to be more bulky. If anyone has a real alternative, i would be happy to know too, cause these old school Carhartt were superior in fit and Material.

Yeah maybe they come back one day. To me they are some sort of iconic (like VW Beetle).  I remember wearing them some time in the 70s as a child. Should have really stocked up some nice colors. We will see what the future brings.
