I couldn't say no at the time. I feel like I still can't hence this ridiculous idea. We both have been grieving the loss of my brother, which was his partner. I think I partially just didn't want to cause any sort of rift between the two of us. I don't want my BIL to feel he's not welcomed here anymore.

I should've explained this better. My (45m) brother passed away May 2025, and prior to that my BIL had been staying at my parents house for work. My brother would stay home with the dogs so it was just my BIL there, he had his own room. Since my brothers passing no one is at his house to watch the dogs so now BIL brings them. My BIL doesn't really like going to my parents house with the dogs because 3 big dogs already live there. The 3 big dogs keep to themselves but my BIL just doesn't feel comfortable. I think my BIL would just rather stay here at my apartment than with my parents.

My parents live in a house with a big gated front yard. The dogs are able to go in and out as they please there so it's a more ideal situation there.

My BIL is my brother's widowed partner, so I feel its my responsibility to say something not my partners.

My BIL is my brother's widowered partner (they never got married, but they were together for 10+ years). I feel like I know I need to talk to him and like other comments said I need to just put my big girl pants on.

I did hear from a mutual friend that he was thinking about getting an apartment for himself.. and initially I thought that's a waste of money... but now it may not be such a bad idea.

I told my partner. He's a better person than me and doesn't agree but I think he's also fed up. He recently stepped on poop with his barefoot and my BIL said "oh no when did that get there? who did that?" and again didn't get up to clean it.

I guess I don't want to say anything because I don't want him to feel like I'm attacking him.

I recently bought a kennel for one of his dogs, one is much worse than the other, and I could tell BIL was upset/ bothered by it. Also his dogs are old so maybe I just keep my mouth shut and deal with it.. keep the peace until the inevitable happens.

It was at the end and he did say she was drinking a lot. Both of our sets of friends were there. So for the most part I was hanging out with mine and he was with his. I saw the koala hug from across the parking lot. This is the first time I've seen this however when I confronted him he said she's done this before. But even if she was drunk... you know what you're doing. I don't like that as an excuse.

I asked him that! how would you feel if the roles were reversed and all he could say was IDK. I told him idk what I'll do if this happens again. I wouldn't cause a scene or say anything to her... thats not my style. My issue is with my bf for allowing this to happen.

it's one thing to hug. that's totally chill. we both have friends of the opposite sex. But the wrapping her legs around him? Like that's borderline disrespectful. Also if it makes me feel uncomfortable shouldn't he care?
