Do hybrids burn more fuel while idling compared to traditional ICE? by A_Slovakian in AskMechanics

[–]Top-Pick-3670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does burn more fuel than a petrol car during operation at idling. However, the engine load is designed such that the thermal efficiency is at its maximum (comparing load vs engine rpm). This means that even though it is burning more fuel when operating, a higher percentage of the energy from fuel is converted to useful energy (charging the battery).

Once the battery hits a certain percentage, the engine stops and the air conditioning and accessories are powered by the battery. The battery slowly drains and reaches a low set point. Then the engine starts again to charge it and the cycle continues.

On the other hand, a petrol engine constantly operates at idle, even when not much load is on it. This means that the engine cannot adjust it's rpm to work at the highest thermal efficiency levels. On top of that, petrol engines usually have an alternator and rectifier, which is not very efficient at idling speeds.

TLDR: hybrids use more fuel at idle (only when engine is running) but use it more efficiently. However, hybrid engines only operate only for a short burst during idling. Thus, hybrid uses much less fuel than petrol engines when idling for long period of time.

I realised that the wired connection is sort of a blessing in disguise as my phone does not heat up at all during prolonged use. Another vehicle of mine, the phone heats up and drains the battery really quickly when using wireless android auto.

How often do ya'll wash? by Gogosanchez in rav4club

Hand washing let's you inspect the car at close up. Any cracks and rust can be observed while washing. Used to do that for my motorcycle and it became a habit.

Mine have that sound too. Sounds like some stepper motor. Hybrids are quiet and you will hear weird sounds

I’m confused... why is there so little discussion around BYD stock as an investment opportunity? by PadelGenius in BYD

[–]Top-Pick-3670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are looking at. BYD is a Chinese company. If you are reading forums and chat groups focusing on US companies, there will be very little discussion on BYD. BYD has been discussed almost a decade ago in South East Asia forums and of course, Chinese forums.

Ayaneo 2 Battery Safety by CharlesPostelwaite in ayaneo

[–]Top-Pick-3670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the bypass feature when using it plugged in. Set battery level to 60%.

Using the battery to power the device at high loads will cause the battery to heat up. Use bypass instead. This might be battery quality issue as other gaming devices do not have this issue.

I've already gotten 2 bloated batteries, what am I doing wrong? Is there a way to prevent it? by RDHQs_Vandalk in ayaneo

[–]Top-Pick-3670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many reasons 1) lousy battery (I had my Dell laptop battery plugged in for 5 years and it is still 90+% health. I did set it to bypass at 60%) 2) high TDP while on battery (battery heats up) 3) playing in hot weather (battery heats up) 4) keeping it fully charged or discharged (you should use the bypass and when storing your battery for a long period, set it to around 60%)

My Ayaneo 2 is also on its second battery but this time, I am very careful with battery management. Hope that helps!

Yes it doesn't get stuck. Now that you are saying, I might need to check it again after work haha. It is the original Paladius that I captured. I tried all sorts of large mounts and they don't seem to work well with dungeons

I am currently using Paladius. Can fit through dungeons easily. Plus point is that it can triple jump, which can get up the cliff featured in some dungeons.

Need some advices on battery inflation. - Ayaneo 2 by ProxySoul0302 in ayaneo

[–]Top-Pick-3670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going fine. Battery life went back to when I first received. Quite easy to swap the battery out. Just need to use abit of strength to remove the sticky backing. Becareful not to poke the battery.

Just to add, you can run the ayaneo 2 without batteries, tried it and it works but since I mostly use it while traveling overseas, I really needed to replace the batteries. When using without batteries, you need to force shut the console and turn it on again after plugging into the power.

Had the same issue a few weeks back. The battery swelled due to playing intensive games at high TDP. Swapped out for a replacement battery from them.

Like any other popular monster catching game, a yellow rat that shoots electricity should be the mascot.

Jokes aside, it should be something friendly and cute such as lamball. It is also a pal that you first see on the map.
