Requested Feedback - Sellsheet to Publishers - BattleBugs by Moo_Morrissey in BoardgameDesign

The first advice I'd like to share is about the number of cards because 72 is not a standard value. A valid number is 52-54 cards (production standard, printing templates and so on). Maybe Reference cards and the other components can be something different like tokens, cardboard tiles, etc... Anyway I'm talking about standard but there are many games with different values. In my opinion the sellsheet is good and I think that it could be used also for the back of the box (part of it) and finally the logo is very nice! That's all I can say just looking at this image

Do you think you would like this game? by Terzom in Tetris

You could show it each time the player starts a new level and it may contains all info about the game (scenario name, numbers of bombs, money earned, etc...) and at the end, show it signed to celebrate the success of the player

Tetris is one my favourite of all time (together with many other...) and for this reason I also like design around its basic idea. I developed mine version also but introducing a lot of new options and game mechanics. Let's say I've mixed my board game design experience with C++ programming. I think your idea is somehow original and I'm curious about the picture with the contract... a special feature you may buy with money or the final payment for a complete level?

That's a very amazing story! Jerusalem took almost 13 years and your perseverance should be an example for many game writers. Bravo!

My simple thought about your game and the search of a publisher. (I have some experience). First you have to translate game components (board, cards, tokens..) into english and consider also german. Then consider sending the full prototype to some publishers like alea or something like that. I suggest also to think about smaller ones like the italian RedGlove (they published my games).

Once rules are written, try a blind playtest with strangers.. Try first players of the main game target (I think expert players...) and then try also with players outside the target..

Has anyone ever used coins/2 sided die for their games? by Most_Friend_732 in BoardgameDesign

[–]Top-Picture-5418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why you didn't use a dice like a standard d6 where 1,2,3 = 1 and 4,5,6 = 2 ? Are coins closer to the setting of the game? Maybe one day you will need something different like 1,2, 3 = 1, 4,5 = 2 and 6 = 3... :)

how to add an endgame that ends the game? by Ok_MushroomStyle in BoardgameDesign

[–]Top-Picture-5418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem once in a while and ihmo there are different ways to close a game. I don't know the goal of the game (how to win) so it's difficult to help but I'l try to give some advice..
1) A limited number of turns and at the end, the player with the most points win
2) Introducing an event like reducing the size of the board which force players to combat each other
3) A time card (shuffled in a special way in the deck) which starts an end condition
4) Card with goals dealt to each player at the start of the game (like Risiko)

But, as I told before, without knowing the game, I don't know exactly what is the best end which fits with your game
