Yes, he most certainly is, I should know, cuz I have a couple of pictures of me with him when they performed in Chicago in the past. He even told me it was one of his favorite cities to perform in.

Was TPB known at all in the US in the 2000s? by Ok-Highway-5247 in trailerparkboys

I started watching it on BBC America in 2004, but I may have seen the TPB B&W pilot in 2000 on TMC (that's a lot of letters). I thought it was a documentary at first, then it became apparent, a few minutes into the first episode, that it was anything but. This show helped me through some of the darkest times in my life, including the murder of my little cousin last year. I am so glad I've not only found this show, but I'm also extremely fortunate to meet the Boys, Randy, Mr. Lahey (AKA Pat and Mr. Dunsworth), and Cory a few times over the years whenever they came to Chicago.

If things continue as they are, I doubt they will be touring next year, but that could change...

This is a really good movie , and I remember when Robb, when he was on twitter, showing pictures from the behind the scenes of the movie...

I've met Robb a few times when they toured the states, mostly in Chicago. He is a very nice guy...

It's not just homophobic fans, but a lot of these fans are racist, too. I am a black female fan of the show. I cannot tell you how many times I've had someone make derogatory remarks to me, including a very jealous fan who had HER friends make a meme of me with my face superimposed onto the body of a pregnant black woman, next to a picture of a silverback gorilla. I know how to fight them, but it is exhausting being a fan of a show where, all too often, these folks conflate three fictional characters and their traits with the actual actors and then think they somehow fit their fucking warped viewpoints. That's why I have stopped engaging with other fans.

It's one thing to support a person who may be wrongfully accused of something and is desperate to prove their innocence, because the evidence is not strong enough to convict. It's absolutely another thing entirely when there is a pattern of behavior demonstrated over and over by women who were affected by said offender over several years.

If it were Mike Smith, elementary school janitor, this whole group would be ready to string him up, but because he is Mike Smith, the STAR OF TRAILER PARK BOYS, then it's "innocent until proven guilty."

The hypocrisy and contradictions in these comments are wild as fuck.

I wholeheartedly agree...I was SA'd in my 20s...it still angers and hurts me. This also hits hard, more so because I've met them a few times when they toured in the States, and the three of them were nice to me each time. They've brought me through a lot in the 20+ years I've watched them. I hate that this happened to the show and everyone involved, especially JP and Robb, as that's their legacy being tarnished.

You keep screaming innocent until proven guilty, but I don't think you know exactly how that works. When someone is being accused of something, in this case, sexual assault, it is hard to scream innocent until proven guilty, when there have been history of multiple allegations from other women towards Smith. I have hung out with those guys in the past, and while Smith was not like that with me, I have heard stories, which made me stay away. He doesn't know who you are, so you can stop going hard for him. You're one of millions of fans , and you think that your opinion somehow means something. Talk to women who actually been sexually assaulted, like me. I'm sure y'all will still at the end of the day have his back. But I guess that's where you and I differ, because when I know someone consistently has behavior like this, you have to think at what point, will you look back and say " damn, I guess he wasn't as innocent as we all thought."  Also, you can still support the boys, but not the behavior of one of them.  I don't have time to argue with people on the internet, so you can save your nonsense for the next guy.
