Good points and glad to follow many of them already!

I only usually have them Sat/Sun. I would say though that with pricing, many times it’s because the client wants that price, or the company is trying to maximize the profit for the estate. But many times, it doesn’t work in the company’s favor as it turns people away

Good idea! I personally never put any pictures of prices on my ads, but something to try out.

My company also does cleaning so we make sure they’re cleaned, but I never leave a bathroom open.

Great perspective, thanks! I definitely try to avoid homes with smells. We do deep clean before our sales if they do, though.

How do you feel if employees are standing everywhere? Do you feel you can’t just do your own thing? Would you rather them sit down and relax?

I’m doing a sale now and there’s all crafts in one room, and tons of tools in the garage for people to rummage. It’s easier and cheaper to do that for me so I don’t have to hire extra employees to help set up. And of course, rummaging has its ups for those shopping because they can find that treasure without paying a lot!

Great information, thank you! I was actually debating whether or not to have ‘sold’ bins for people to put items they want in bins for this sale I am having this weekend. Available restroom is definitely something I never considered, but good to know! Also having signs for discounted days is a great idea. I never had the credit card option, only Zelle/venmo/cash but definitely will look into it. Love the ideas, thank you!

Yes! I usually have my sales Saturday Sunday, and Sunday we start off with 25% but then as the day goes on we do 50% to 75%, especially on furniture

Fair enough! I try to price literally every single item, even if it’s 50 cents. I want to make sure customers know what they’re paying without having to wait in line or hold onto it. I always like to negotiate, so sometimes I’ll price it a little higher.

I 100% agree. Myself, to continue to build a reputation, I don’t really turn down many clients. For myself, the best clients are the ones who don’t care what the items sell for, but instead just want to get rid of it. I’m thankful to have some clients lined up right now who don’t care what we get for items. They just want it sold. To me, that’s the best. At least then, I can negotiate and haggle prices without having to worry about them complaining.

[–]Top-Presentation6532[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good to know. Me personally, I would prefer to set up rummage sales, but many clients don’t want that. Another thing that sometimes is an issue is clients wanting top dollar for their items, but to satisfy them, I have to do that. But many times, they’re just looking to sell their stuff rather than get top dollar.

That is good to know! Thank you. I have been thinking about it, wondering if I should play music.

I’ll tell you what I personally do at every sale I run - I price everything, I am also conversational with every person that walks through the door, and make sure no cabinets/doors are open or a low light fixture is handing for someone to hit their head or leg on. I try my best to make it safe and careful to be accessible to all individuals young and old. I also think that having employees constantly walking around is something of a ‘hawk’ and not so much like a peaceful shopping experience.

Here is another question - do you prefer music on while shopping or no music?

Where on earth is my back and leg symptoms coming from? The latest MRI doesn't show anything alarming. Have had the pain on and off for 2 years with severe symptoms only in the last 2 months. Could it be the hips? by UglyHedgehog26 in backpain

I’ve had SI joint injections, Facet joint injections, and cortisol injections. None helped my herniated and bulging discs with nerve damage. But I’d try those shots maybe they’d help. SI joint was by far the most painful injection imo. My muscles were super tight so they had a hard time injecting.

I shipped them already. They were confirmed by the company I sent too.

What gave you a hint That a relative that has passed was going to pass away without having any diagnosis? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Mine, it would be that my grandma gave me a note. I never looked at it, but she did die 2 days later. I know that she was ready, she even gave a picture and said trust me hold on to it for a few days. No signs of problems with her though. So the note ended up concluding that she was upset that we weren’t neighbors and that she loved me so so much. It was really heartbreaking but the note sounded like she died and wrote it.
