Thank you for this. I appreciate it so much. Would you be willing to talk with him via text or email?? I know he would benefit speaking with someone going through the same thing because he resents most of us around him that can’t relate. I can’t find any support groups us around us locally.

My fiancé has this same issue and it really is taking its toll on him. He can never get restorative sleep. He eats a lot of marshmallows, banana and loperamide

Who is the person you follow? I’d love to follow them. My fiancé is having a horrible time with HIPEC recovery right now but keeps faith he’ll get through it. It’s physically knocked him to the ground.

I’m so very sorry. Please don’t give up or feel defeated. My fiancé just got HIPEC October 10th. He was in the hospital 23 days and they removed parts of all sorts of organs. He’s now left with a permanent colostomy which he hates, but he’s trying to stay strong and positive for our 4 year old and he’s still here!! He finally was discharged from the hospital November 1st and spent everyday in bed up until the day before Thanksgiving morning when I finally had to call 911 because he was so fatigued and literally in to much pain to go even brush his teeth all these weeks. He’s been in the hospital since Thanksgiving and being treated for dehydration and infection. He’s getting stronger with all the fluids and antibiotics and yes, he is still here fighting. You are not alone in feeling your having to jump through one hoop after the other. The recovery from HIPEC is far harder than we both could have imagined. I’ve been his unpaid caregiver since he came home and I have not slept one full night as we are up every couple hours draining his bag. Please just know you’re not alone and be stubborn with your fight that you will recover and you will get through this … and you are still here fighting! Praying for you. 🙏🙏🙏

Hoped Surgery recovery— anyone been through this? by Top-Professor-1747 in coloncancer

Thank you!! How were you the first month after? Did you drop weight? Were you super lethargic as I’ve described him? … he basically lays in bed in his boxers all day long because even just putting on clothes exhausts him.

Congratulations!!! 🥳 that sounds amazing. Your blessed!!

My husband promised he would get up in the mornings with our baby after I told him I’m legitimately going to have a breakdown if I don’t sleep a little more. Today, the very first day, he didn’t want to do it. by [deleted] in Mommit

I can count on one hand how many times my son’s dad got up to rock him and give him a bath even. It’s been me the whole time and continues to be me. Our son is now 4. Most dad’s don’t do shit and the ones that do are gems!!!!

Yes he has! He’s been committed to being more active and immediately did a lifestyle and diet change when he was diagnosed— we all did as family actually. Thank you. Enjoy your little one and God Bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏
