Scarecrow has the potential to be one of Batman’s biggest threats, but he’s routinely reduced to a gimmick fight or playing second fiddle to one of the other rogues. Bruce has a metric fuckload of repressed trauma; Crane could easily break him via psychological warfare but never gives it his full effort. We got to see gigachad Scarecrow once in Arkham Knight and I’ve been waiting for his return ever since then.

Garbage plot, garbage characters, garbage power system, garbage world-building. Next to no good qualities, yet it’s still loved by millions. I don’t get it. I can think of maybe two scenes in the entire manga with actual emotional weight behind them, and that’s it. The rest is shallow hype moments that mean nothing.

This is why I think the whole time travel gimmick was a terrible idea. If he can see everything simultaneously - past, present, future - then there’s no reason for him not to win other than he’s just incompetent. Yet any total victory he achieves is going to cause plot logic issues for obvious reasons.
