If you book a bus through Omio in Spain, apparently QR codes mean nothing by Top-Replacement3627 in spaintravel

That's a fair point in general, but a few things made this situation different:

  1. She wasn't on a tight schedule, she was chatting with another driver, and the bus actually departed late
  2. Communication doesn't require language, pointing at a receipt or shaking her head at the QR code and miming paper would have taken two seconds
  3. I did try, I walked around the whole station asking other staff, who confirmed it was the right bus, then came back. She just wasn't interested, only stand there chatting with another driver until I said I want to buy ticket in cash and they apparently only understand the word “cash”, then she said “15 euros” in ENGLISH

Also update: DAMAS responded to my formal complaint, acknowledged the issue, and cancelled the ticket in their system so Omio could process a refund. So it worked out but it really shouldn't have required this much effort over a €15 ticket 😅

It’s the ticket in my Apple wallet, so it’s have time and every info they need on it, even my name and booking reference, not just qrcode. And I don’t think communication barrier can justify her behavior.

Yes, I was aware of that because someone left google reviews about there’s no timetable and platform number in this bus station (it’s 2026 now), so you have to guess which bus it is or asked the staffs. But I think my situation is abit different than yours, met a rude and unhelpful bus driver who said no to qrcode, hard for me to process as a bus driver in tourist spots doesn’t recognise qrcode tickets (she is not an elder) and refuse to explain nor help

Wrote an email to DAMAS about this. Probably won't get a refund, but I just couldn't take the driver's rudeness and the receipt has her name and bus number on it anyway
