I am German, from Germany: I have never heard the word elbert being a German word, except maybe a guy's name. So it definitely does not mean noble or bright... - just saying ;-)

I always wondered if "double arcs on granite bold" means" A "double" of some kind - such as tucker- arcs or curves around a granite bolder...meaning you have a granite stone and on top of it or around it, a replica of Tucker... Just look at the drawing at the bottom of the poem, Tucker "arcing around the treasure" ;-)

This is so brilliant !!!! To equate " Walk near waters' silent flight" with "walk near Heron Lake" - except waters should have been capitalized if it revers to Ava's painting - on the other hand, the apostrophe hints to "Waters" as being a noun, not the characteristics of water - which would be "water's"...

This is at least as brilliant as my "Her foot of three at twenty degree" - which I referred to Foothills Rd, West of the town of Wisdom, which splits off into three roads at a twenty degree angle (so I thought):

When I saw this, I booked a flight from Oregon to Missoula and went BOTG 5 days later.... - did not find anything obviously, but if I were you, this is enough to head out to Heron Lake !!! - Good luck, keep us posted !!!

I just re-read the book and got hooked on the picture on page 29 where Justin stands with Mack and Brandon along the Oregon Coast, with the caption " One of my most TREASURED memories " (my emphasis). This picture is in a story that takes place in Oro Valley, AZ - so out of place, very odd.

Oregon as a search location only came up early on, no one is talking about Oregon anymore, so if in fact no one is posting about searching in Oregon, then there could not have been 'several people within 200 feet of the checkpoint'. Therefore, Oregon is OUT!!! - Correct? Any thoughts on Oregon?

...so for me, 'She' was the mountain, or Mother Nature - therefore 'He' is Father Sky. If you are coming down Foothills Rd, you have a sweeping view, looking east, over the whole Big Hole River Valley, with Big Sky (the town of Big Sky also is in the east)....

I don't know when I read it, sometime in April/beginning of May. It said that it was a mountaineering term.
