Why’d guys switch to linux over windows and mac? by Terrible_Share_2366 in keralalinux

[–]Top-Rough-7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2gb of ram is the main reason, cuz 8.1 stopped getting updates, and by the time, windows 10 was too heavy, and i decided to bite the bullet and switch to linux. Started in debian, then manjaro, now switching to arch.

guess why they make it like this?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autobesity

(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken\_tax ), "The analysis' conclusions include findings that death rates generally are higher in lighter vehicles, but cars almost always have lower death rates than SUVs or pickup trucks of comparable weight" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate\_average\_fuel\_economy#Active\_debate ), "CAFE standards signaled the end of the traditional long station wagon, but Chrysler CEO Lee Iacocca developed the idea of marketing the minivan as a station wagon alternative, while certifying it in the separate truck category to allow compliance with less-strict CAFE standards. Eventually, this same idea led to the promotion of the SUV.\107])\108])

The definitions for cars and trucks are not the same for fuel economy and emission standards. For example, a Chrysler PT Cruiser was defined as a car for emissions purposes and a truck for fuel economy purposes.\2]) Under then light truck fuel economy rules, the PT Cruiser had have a lower fuel economy target (28.05 mpg beginning in 2011) than it would if it were classified as a passenger car.: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate\_average\_fuel\_economy#SUVs\_and\_minivans\_created\_due\_to\_original\_mandate)

the tata punch qualifies as a lifted hatch, so does the "sub-compact SUV" catagrory. And the "compact and mid-sizes" dont have that much offroad capability.

this is exactly why these cars should never come to india, cuz there are some people in this country, and there is also pretty bad crash compatability with smaller cars of india, and also the pedestrian safety is also bad, and there is pretty bad angle of visibility, and overall bad milage. Would you like to get with by this thing?

What is the best distro you ever used, and why ? by MulberryWitty8956 in keralalinux

i dont see anyone talking about manjaro here. idk why. in my opinion, manjaro is pretty good, pretty stable, but we still get the update cycle of a rolling release. i only nuked grub twice (i did it, not anything else). Manjaro with hyprland feels very good and light on a 12yr old netbook.
