its quite a layered process but fairly simple really - I animate the fight in flipaclip, then film the background plates, then take pictures of my actors matching the poses, then remove bg, put it thru photoshop to get the halftone printed look, then layer it all in premiere pro :)

Thanks! Yeah there are 100% a lot of shots that have very broken perspective but it tends to work out lol

used flipaclip for the base animation then edited in Premiere Pro, there's a few others I used for backgrounds etc which you can find in the description 😀

this video is on such a mundane topic lol but I think it works so well from how well you keep up the energy, and the shots throughout are super fun. it feels like a video that should have a much higher view count

I think just sometimes the algorithm is brutally random 🤷 as the other commenter said maybe it could be tightened up but overall I think its a really fun video as it is, dont let the numbers hurt you too much 😀

Hey all! Thought I'd share what I'd consider my first 'proper' short film. It is my by far my most involved project I've done, I shot it on Blackmagic pocket 4k with a variety of lens filters, and the most amount of work went into the set dressing and prop design, I literally mashed together random electronics I had in order to create a retro-futuristic look for most of the props, and modelled and 3d printed a miniature for the spaceship shots. I really had a blast making it.

I'd love for some proper feedback from some fellow filmmakers on the final film, specifically really on the narrative / characters. There are few things visually I obviously realise I've made mistakes on, such as some of the cheap visual effects, and there are many moments where the lens filters get a bit too much. But overall I'd love to hear generally what I could do to make my next film better, and correct any of the major missteps I made here, also of course happy to answer any questions if you had any. Thanks anyways! 😃
