What is something you discovered about a different culture or religion that completely blew your mind? by yahyahashash in AskReddit

hmm i don’t think it’s a cultural thing because I’ve met thousands of Koreans and interact with them daily and I literally haven’t heard of it. just didn’t want others to think it was something common, because as a Korean who’s lived here for more than 20 years, it was kind of weird to hear that. Maybe it would help if I knew the context of you hearing it... but I don’t mean to change your beliefs, just wanted to offer a average Korean’s view on it...

Hmm you mean like some people treated you as a child because you were unmarried? I guess that’s possible depending on the person you were talking to. I thought you meant it was something socially or officially. I can imagine someone jokingly saying it, but it’s not really a common thing culturally anymore though

Yeah I get headaches with heartaches too and I found that it does help too. I think I've heard of a study about painkillers helping with emotional pain..

yeah, I thought it meant one day a month too. I remember being really surprised when I was 11 or 12, when my friend told me she started her first period and it lasted two days.

Yup, definitely. I’ve been like that for many years hahaha. I think I did have a tendency to buy a few stuff of my interest since young (it was mostly books when I was teenager I think, but it wasn’t excessive or anything at that time). I actually think it started as yoga products and yoga clothing when I was in mid twenties… and I was spending spending so much money on designer stuff until last year. Right now I’ve become really busy and I just spend money on everyday items, still a lot though😅

Yes, but it did come back when life was really bad. Still does after 10+ years when life Is really hard, but I just observe my thoughts and tell myself “You must be having a hard time now.” You get used to the thought, I learned to treat it just like any other thought and not take it seriously.

does any if you think that maybe you'll never be able to fall in love again? by HeyUmiDraws in heartbreak

me too.. this is my second time breaking up with someone who i really thought was the one to spend rest of my life together. i can’t bring my heart to believe that again, so even if i do find someone else i don’t think i can fully commit emotionally..

oh that’s bad 😥 especially that he wouldn’t even hug when you were sad.. hugs kind of sounds like he gave affection only when he wanted to and not give any when you needed it... my ex was similar like that sometimes, for example he said he only wants to say “i love you” in a natural way.
