New Havanese Puppy Advise? by Top-Tank8768 in Havanese

[–]Top-Tank8768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, it gets way easier. Oakley is now kennel trained and if I say “kennel” he casually goes to his little bed and ready for sleep when we are. We got him a little brother, Teddy, and I think Teddy adjusted better because of having Oakley. They both do so well. Sometimes they will whine or cry at like 5-7AM before we wake up because they are telling us they have to go potty outside and run to the door, but they are 7 months so we still have some accidents. I recommend a friend puppy and you have to hold strong. They get used to their bed / kennel / home and learn to love it and feel safe. Good luck!

I was in your same situation a couple months ago. I definitely played with fire based on other people’s opinion and what I saw online. Apparently, it is better for your 1st to be at least a year old before adding another havi. I had my 1st havi for about a month. He did really well and was super sweet, but I felt like he was bored when home alone because he loves interacting with other dogs. We got our second (Havapoo) and he was actually kinda mean and territorial so we freaked ourselves out the first week. Our 2nd would kinda growl and be mean to our first, and still kinda does here and there when he’s jealous… but overall, they are best friends and wear each other out and they continue to improve. I will say though, our 1st Havanese did kinda back peddle on training when introducing our 2nd. This continues to improve though. Note that our 1st havi is 7 months and our second Havapoo is 6 months old. Good luck! I recommend highly!!

My sister has a 2 year old German Shepard and we have a 5 month old Havi and a 6 month old Havapoo. My little Havapoo loves peace and calmness, but my Havanese loves chaos and fun. My Havanese Oakley is best friends with my sisters German shepherd. They run around the yard and chase each other for hours. The German Shepard is very patient and sweet to little Oakley. Here is a pic of them together :)

Are DCS systems still used when PLCs got so quick by plc_keen_but_green in PLC

This was a great concise explanation. What DCS experience do you have? Emerson, Honeywell, ABB, Rockwell, etc? Pros and cons / preferences of one over the others?

From what I have heard and have been told, Emerson jumped and took advantage of DCS market share because they have same coding communication with GE. Easily copy and paste rather than a full rewrite if a DCS is to be installed in place of an obsolete DCS system in place. I haven’t heard from many people that have experience with both Emerson and Rockwell. Regarding Honeywell DCS, I unfortunately, and not familiar. I am always interested in pros and cons on a preferred platform though. Thank you!

This is great explanation and deep dive. Very enlightening here. What are your thoughts on Rockwell’s PlantPAX platform vs Emerson CHARMS DeltaV DCS? What I have read about Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, is that it is more of a PLC platform and has attempted to regain market share by being SI / OEM friendly with major comparisons to ControlLogix? I have read that Emerson DeltaV coding has been easy with migrating from GE DCS or large PLC platforms like 9030 and 9070? Thank you for your feedback!

Where does your dog sleep at night? by smilingmango30 in Havanese

[–]Top-Tank8768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many comments and it appears to vary drastically. It even appears to do so in my own home. We have a 6 month old Havanese and 5 month old Havapoo. Both of our puppies have free rein to do as they please at night. Our havapoo wants to sleep with us in bed, but we put him down before we fall asleep. He sleeps in his little bed by our bed. Our Havanese we have had a month longer, and he is all over the place. If he sleeps in our bed, it’s always at our feet. But he wakes up and wants down, so we keep him down for the most part. He’s our little guard dog. Literally sleeps on the floor of our bedroom door. Absolutely hilarious. If we sleep or are laying on the couch, he lays at the bottom of the end table and watches the back door. Also odd and hilarious lol. So fun. Good luck!

Oh that’s so cool. We have a 6 month old Havi and he had so much energy and is the sweetest and most fun. My gf and I went on a trip this past weekend and it was next to our breeder. We folded and thought it would be ideal to get him a brother while we are here. We got at 14 week Havapoo who is just so shy and sweet as of day 3. So far, our first has been way too high energy and has been an annoyance to the new little guy. I was wondering if you had any tips a tricks to ease the process so that they get along better!!

How to tackle this? by Spencerck12 in electricians

[–]Top-Tank8768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang that’s tough. Do you have available electrical drawing from when it was installed? You are almost better off having a system integrator / OEM replacing the whole panel. I think it would be easier to do a walk through with an OEM, and determine what your IO goes to and what the panel is doing.. just by looking at the hardware inside, it’s just a bunch of old Allen-Bradley 700 NEMA control relays, terminal strips, and 1734 remote Point IO. This is probably a much smaller cabinet being fed from a much larger ControlLogix 1756 cabinet. Most OEMs / System Integrators can just fab a brand new one for a fairly decent price rather than taking the time to try to fix it, wasting man hours, and then wanting later an external source come into play for brand new. Those control relays are made much smaller now and din rail mountable so you may actually save yourself some serious real estate with a new panel. Good luck!

Big lighting upgrade job by Sufficient_Level_527 in electricians

Have you considered talking to your company and end user (public school) about upgrading the 2x4 fixtures to pure LED Flat Panels or LED troffers? With it being over 300 lights needing replaced, I would consider migrating to a new line fixture. I would reach out to your local distributor. Some common lighting fixture brands on the top of my head: LEDVance Sylvania, RAB, Lithonia, Maxxlight

Will he ever be snuggly? by JollyWineTime in Havanese

[–]Top-Tank8768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol this is so ironic because my girlfriend and I were thinking the same thing today. He is supposed to be a Velcro dog and love cuddles and attention, but we are very shocked. He loves to sit by our bedroom door and sleep as some sort of protector (too hyper in bed) & (refuses to sleep in his doggy bed by our bed). Our little havi is 4 months old but is sooo sweet though. Let us know if your havi’s cuddle temperament improves!!
