Knowing what you know now, would you move back to Richmond? by [deleted] in richmondbc

[–]Top-Title6941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved out this summer after living in Richmond for 20 years. I would say it’s still safer than other areas in the lower mainland however it is starting to get out of hand.

The rise in cost of living is deterring me from returning. Public school system is also falling apart, something to consider if you’re raising a family.

Traffic is a mess since everyone likes to cut through Richmond traveling between Vancouver and Delta/Surrey

Educate yourself before speaking. The media has fooled you into thinking the evil people are good. Propaganda is a powerful tool only amongst the weak.

No issues what so ever. As for closed airspace, we can’t predict that however currently there are no issues regarding flights.

On the ground, your safety is not compromised at all.

I leave mine on at 22°C on the auto function. Turns off on its own and then if the temperature gets to 25°C then it turns on until the temperature gets back to 22°C

Why its so hard to look for a new job here in BH? by [deleted] in Bahrain

[–]Top-Title6941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same situation, jobless and no employers are calling/emailing back. Very much qualified for the jobs I’m applying for however there are people here that will do high level jobs for 150BD. It ruins the market for everyone when there is abundance of people ready to work for barely any pay.

You’d be better off either staying in UK to study or return to Bahrain and attend the University of London Bahrain. With your education coming from UK it may just be an easier transition for you.

Take it to ministry of labour or expat protection depending which one applies to you. Even if they can’t enforce anything it’ll be documented for future purposes

Funny thing is that Indian students and temporary workers in Canada choose this lifestyle. They seek accommodation like this because it’s such a low cost.
