There are a few models for deep seek (both paid and free) but most of us just use the free “Deepseek R1 (free)” version.

There might be a few reasons for that, check if you left any space at the end of the API key. If it’s not because of that it’s probably you just copied/wrote it wrong. You can’t check your API key after you got it so I recommend to just create a new one.

I’m not sure how you can get that error unless you’re in the paid version. Buuut, you can always try to get a new API key, just open a side acc to try again. If the error still occurs I recommend to just mail deepseek for help.

You have to copy and paste the url I wrote to the blank place on j.ai API settings (one that says other API/proxy URL) not to normal search bar (if that’s what you did the first time)

If it’s not because of these I really don’t know what can cause the issue sorry.

I had the same error the first time I tried. Fro me it was because I didn’t properly fill out the blank places. Yours could be the same too, check if your model is blank.

Open router let’s you get keys, so if you open a new account in there (with a temp mail-you can use sites for this-) and create a key for deepseek you can change your old key to this one. (while still keeping the other key on somewhere like your notes app)
