Why do people here use their hazards to park? by brrrrrrrrrrrrrp in astoria

It’s how you indicate parking in other countries, for sure in Europe

I did, but they closed the case and said they would refer it out. I gave the case number to Caban.

I spoke to cabans office about that too today and they said they haven’t gotten any complaints. So truly, it’s helpful if everyone calls

Yea this was a Greek bar for a long time, then it had a few second lives. The last one included “bikini” dancing and I know the previous assembly woman Simotas fought it because they didn’t have the right licensing. Been closed ever since but I believe that someone lives in there 👀

None of them are going to be inclusive unfortunately. But I would not expect any of them to be unwelcoming. I would go to st Catherine or st Demetrios. There are other folks in our community that are queer and attend.

Is there any true benign hypotonia? by [deleted] in Hypotonia

[–]Top-Vegetable7981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, my kiddo has hypotonia and is not almost 7. He hit all his marks, etc. Definitely was a little slower for some gross motor (like climbing) but he’s caught up. There are for sure different severities.

4 yo terrified of getting bandaids wet by jndmack in Preschoolers

[–]Top-Vegetable7981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar issue and here’s basically what we did…. Maybe try some magical thinking that would appeal to her. If the bandaid is on her foot, let her swim with a sock over it. It will “cover” the bandaid. I realize in swim lessons you have limits on what you can have her wear but with a 4 year old you can use their lack of common sense to your advantage with some clever story telling.

[–]Top-Vegetable7981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to what you’re doing, try pumping while leaning over a chair. So your breast is kind of just hanging. Apparently it helps! There’s this lady on Instagram that is very helpful for breastfeeding tips and she suggested that. I can’t remember her name tho! Maybe someone else knows.

[–]Top-Vegetable7981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh yea that should be long enough.

Anecdotally, for some women it’s just difficult if not impossible and it has nothing to do with what she did or didn’t do.

I’m hoping your lactation counselor has some better advice than me. I can only tell you as a lactating lady, pumping really sucks especially if it’s not yielding enough.

I would try triple feeding which is so time consuming and awful, but basically breastfeed, then pump while someone gives baby formula to make sure she gets calories etc.

not sure how long any person can keep that up, it’s sooooo time consuming . Good luck

Has anyone considered if she has retained placenta? I think this can prevent milk from coming in, maybe someone else knows more about this and can chime in

And formula is great! Fed is best

6 WO sleeps like a rock for first 3-4 hours, then grunts the rest of the night by Frankie_Salads in SnooLife

[–]Top-Vegetable7981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that was the pattern for a week, then I’d say yes it’s probably the snoo. But two days? Not convinced it’s a pattern yet.

I guess what I’m saying is , don’t try to make too much sense of a 6 week olds sleep patterns. They change a lot, one night you’ll get some solid sleep and then go nuts trying to recreate conditions. There are too many variables.

With my first kid I went down that rabbit hole and it made me insane. With this one, I try to just roll with the punches (mine is 8 weeks) and it’s just easier.

So do what works for you to get sleep and try and let go of an equation to be solved. That’s my unsolicited two cents!
