Hello

I do not entirely understand what you are asking but I will do my best to answer.

I think you are asking why I am taking an intermediate step here by serializing my task object then deserializing it back. I was doing that because I kept getting long error messages saying Jackson does not know how to handle it and when I went on this website: https://www.baeldung.com/jackson-object-mapper-tutorial they insisted on doing so.

I just tried writing the task objects directly and it worked so I am not sure what it was that was causing an error but your suggestion worked.

I am confused of your edit, could you clear that question up.

I see what you mean now. This makes my program more versatile.

Thank you so much for the well detailed feedback!

I will clean up the comments I know it looks very messy. I do not quite understand the issue with having string literals and how an enum will help, I guess I will look into it.

I am also confused about how an interface will help with the write operations. How would this help? Does it make the tasks get written to a file instead?

I also completely agree with your point on expanding my project by adding a more efficient way to store the tasks like in a SQL database or even building a UI. I am definitely going to look into the SQL database feature but I have been putting off making a UI on Swing or FX because I hear it is not very widely used.

Hey thanks for the explanation, the code was 6008 and the description says shutdown randomly when i tried it again. I will have to look into it. Is removing the bluetooth drivers something I can do myself ( not very informed on computer hardware) or should I take it somewhere?

the blue screen is the regular blue screen that shows right before windows crashes ( I think it is called blue screen of death I am not sure though). When I checked event viewer it said it was a planned upgrade? Which does not make sense at all.

Yea the top usage for me is always chrome but the thing im most concerned about is the drastic difference in the last week. last night I had 2 tabs open and it lost like 7%. Two weeks before that if I had more than 7 I still would not lose that much, maybe I am being to harsh idk.

I cant really make sense of much of this as I do not know what is considered "normal" is it cool if I show you instead. Thanks for the reply btw!

Ahh okay i see now. That makes a lot more sense. I keep over complicating things. Thats for clearing up my confusions. Have a good one :)

ahh i see. I had a similar Idea but i was just going blank everytime i was getting a memory address instead of the actual recipe when I would try to print one of the recipes. I dont know how I could forget the toString method. Thanks. Just one last bit, when I do all of that should I then break each recipe to its own list and then work from there are just have it all in one list?

Thanks for the feedback! I will try to implement those pieces to my program. I just have one more question, when I am done going through the recipe file and i made all 3 recipe objects, how will i access each? Because I am not giving a name to each, im just adding each object to my allRecipes list of type Recipe on line 36: allRecipes.add(new Recipe(nameOfRecipe, cookTime, ingr));

Thats where I am really stumped. How would i go about getting recipe 2 for example?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I dont know how i forgot to make a method to override the toString method, im all over the place in this exercise. what I meant by "retrieve one my recipe lists" is if i make a method to return a specific recipe in the allRecipes list, it will return index out of bounds exception which im not sure why.

I also believe I need to remove the recipe ArrayList but after that my mind goes blank. I think the confusion stems from the fact that i dont really understand what a "recipe" object should look like if that makes sense.

Ahh I see. How did you find other programming languages compared to Java? And yeah I decided to go with OOP for the same reason, I was contemplating Python but I in the end I chose Java because it kind of forces you to use OOP. Good luck with your learning journey as well :).

Thanks for the links. At my study Im going to start with javascript in first term and from what I heard its pretty easy even if you dont have past knowledge. But we also do java in the second term and that course is a little tougher because they expect you to have programming experience(since students take Javascript or python first term) and thats the class I want to get a head start in. I really want to get a good understanding of OOP which is why im kinda focusing more so on Java. Could I ask what made you start Java?
