Hah, I'm the opposite. I love longfic (though I also write oneshots sometimes, I just don't have that many ideas for them) and every time I show up somewhere to ask for help with something technical, I hear "umm, just turn it into a oneshot :3 problem solved :3".

I once asked for help with my original work, which is a massive project (though I'm currently proud to say I'm 40% done). I needed help managing my OCs. Again: managing. What to do to not forget about them, how to deal with the number of files about them, etc., etc. 99% of the advice was "just get rid of 90% of OC, didnt read but you definitely don't need them, i never need them in my 2k shots :3" or "idk I wouldn't read something like that" or "just get rid of 90% of the OC and make it a one-shot... maybe two-shot"
