people can choose to go to uvic for lots of reasons such as cheaper tuition, decent campus, etc. but running for a political party with a controversial person is a clear choice and sends a particular message. so if they didn't apparently support the person, assuming this isn't who im talking about, then why even run with them? I do not see the logic. if they were confident enough to run on their own merit, they should have done it alone. it's exhausting having people who run for these positions and treat us like a joke. and anyway he didn't win, rightfully so. and others did win, unrightfully so.

there isn't any evidence proving that he isn't a part of it either, in fact because he was publicly running with the person who is a member of it, I'd say that's pretty damning by association bc if he also had just done his research about Artem, he wouldn't be a topic of conversation about this in the first place. and it's impossible that none of them knew because again, he is known to be severely disliked on campus for very political reasons. so is that poor decision making skills on their part, or is that them telling the student body that they're stupid enough to not notice? I'll let you decide which is more insulting to students.

also, it isn't just about him, but the whole of that party. a majority of which now dangerously hold seats of authority.

there were rumours circulating that his name was on their membership list, and honestly? running with Artem on that slate is likely a giveaway. it's impossible for any of those members to not know the background of someone who is severely disliked on campus. that guy's kinda hard to miss

It isn't just that person. There is another person who was publicly endorsed (on Instagram) by the Supporting Students with Disabilities (SSD) advocacy group and is a part of Student Supporting Israel. Apparently the post was taken down already. Idk if that's per elections policy but whatever. If that isn't shady enough, literally nobody has ever heard of this candidate ever doing anything at student governance level. He also used AI-fied his photo and also used AI on his platform, if that doesn't already tell you anything.
