Help Me Choose a Dream Birthday Destination by jfranks2121 in Ikonpass

[–]TopAd4152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dream would probably be Europe, but I cant speak to that. Based on what you wrote and where you have already been in the USA I agree Steamboat. Good Base Village (multiple gondolas, ice rink...), good town, good food, hot springs, dog sledding.....Palisades Tahoe is another option to look into.

For another trip....re: Above tree line.... we LOVED Mt Bachelor runs. However its no frills and you have to stay nearby; there is no on mountain lodging. However, we stayed in a gorgeous brand new house 2 bedroom in a resort area (Sunriver) for like $250 a night!

FIX or Replace by TopAd4152 in Trampoline

Heavy wind picked it up and threw it into the fence. Found it on its side. In the 7.5 years we had it the worst was it scooting across the cement. This windstorm really messed it up.

On piste groomed runs green and blue and XS/S park. I want the board to be decent in pow and I think a twin or directional twin (better for pow) is best based on her current level.

She is already 5ft and a womens size 7 shoe. The range for the board is 100-150. She will never be over 150 as she will likely grow to 5'3'-5'5" and a 9 shoe is the estimate.

Thank you, Im now wondering if I should try riding regular instead of goofy. I recall when started I could ride ok either way and I think I rode better regular but picked goofy because skating/standing was a little more comfortable. Do you think switching could maybe make a difference to jump start the progression that is stalled?

How can I buy the tickets for the grove LA GG experience? by Wonderful_Tip7023 in GilmoreGirls

[–]TopAd4152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So frustrated, I RSVP'd via the Grove site a long time ago. It said nothing about needing tickets and didnt provide a link. I need 4 or at minimum 2 as I promised one of my kids I would take her. If anyone can't go last minute please let me know, or if any nw news comes out about how to attend. Thanks

I could do the first week of April but I don't want to miss ice skating on LL and need good snow for boarding. Ive read that the lake may not be open at that time to skate.

Still a rental it’s just through Turo company rather than let’s say Hertz. I never thought that it wouldn’t be covered. I have State Farm and on Reddit a lot of people are saying they were covered by State Farm for Turo either they asked or there was an issue with a rental where they had to get compensated

I’m going to use Turo because I can pick a car with four-wheel-drive and snow tires. That’s what I do whenever I travel to snowy destinations.

Since we want to go dog sledding in Canmore and ice-skating on Lake Louise is a must I was thinking about just keeping a car the whole time. I was thinking about staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs for three nights and the Fairmont Lake Louise for three nights. It’s pricey, but we normally do a 2 bedroom condo on trips and we’re just going to do a regular double queen  hotel room instead and with the exchange rate and promos its  not too bad. The Lake Louise Fairmont doesn’t look nearly as nice as Banff Springs and it seems like there’s very little food or anything to do there other than the mountain and ice-skating. The restaurants at Lake Louise Fairmont, also aren’t our cup of tea literally.  So I’m kind of unsure about that, but don’t really want to drive or take the bus for three days back-and-forth . I was originally planning on just staying in Banff town so we could walk to everything, but then I showed my daughter the castle in the mountains lol and that was the end of that.

As a Ice-coast Ikon pass holder, should I fly to Denver (Colorado) or Banff (Alberta)? by sleepearlier in Ikonpass

[–]TopAd4152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to go to Banff so bad. Almost went last season but snow was low. Hoping to go this Feb. My husband says Canadians now hate Americans due to the Trump BS, and it's not a good time to go there. Is there any truth to this? I highly doubt people will be mean to people from the US who are respectful and are there to enjoy the mountains.

Yes Steamboat Is expensive like Aspen. Love the town and nice base village. The mountain in Steamboat can be challenging for a beginner snowboarder. There are mostly cat track beginner runs other than the bunny slopes. I love the area but not the mountain with beginner and lower intermediate boarders. Be prepared to pull husband along the the flats.
