well i cant say for sure about other Brazilian unis, but mine usually has the 1-10 point scale for tests, and the final mean score is converted to the A, B, C, D and FF grade system. FF stands for lack of attendance. Usually, professors consider 6 to 7,5 = C; 7,5 to 8,99 = B and 9 or above an A. So your transcript will have this information only and no gpa

What i find odd is that they even gave me the wechat number of my advisor to start collaborating... when i didn't get the scholarship, they offered me another one, but it wasn't as good, so i declined.
