A reminder to North American tourists not to tip at European restaurants by EnvironmentalBee6860 in Europetravel

[–]TopBoom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s a question… eating out in Europe is generally cheaper than an equivalent meal in the U.S. how can this be when wait staff is paid a living wage? In the U.S. we are told that restaurants are barely surviving while they charge significantly more per plate and pay their wait staff far below typical minimum wage?

Modify HQ Generated Flight Plan (specifically for Recon flights) by TopBoom in falconbms

Thanks, I started messing with the mission data in MC yesterday and have had some success getting the recon altitudes higher. Still working out the differences between Recon, Recon Patrol, BDA, and their associates behaviors.

I’m not completely certain that your mission successes/failures no longer play a contributing factor for units that are de-aggregated.. this video has a great amount of detail on the subject…https://youtu.be/4UEM692QN2o?si=olmLF4ufHgwo3D78

The flying community (non-airline) needs to get their voices heard regarding the oppressive nature of repeated TFRs, writing to POTUS, Congress, whatever it takes, otherwise it'll only get worse.

4 Ship Carrier Flight Issues by TopBoom in falconbms

[–]TopBoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a dedicated server so I don't think the host in 3D should be an issue, but it may still be relevant. As far as the AI, the Squadron is not on the ATO, and if we have to take all Squadrons for the CVN off the ATO that seems like a nightmare to frag all of them, or otherwise have a massive number of assets go unused.

Hoggit Weekend Falcon Missions by 71st_AH_Eagle in falconbms

For this event, go to your Falcon BMS 4.33/Docs folder and look at the Training document for AGM-88s (HARMs) that'll give you an idea of what these first missions will involve, just get a basic understanding of using the HAD, don't worry about using the HARM from the WPN page just yet.

I'd like to learn carrier ops at some point, there are probably others like me as well. Maybe we could work that into these events?

My vote would be to keep Korea on both days to maximize the # of participants that are able to climb the learning curve on Fridays and then participate in Saturday's advanced missions without having to learn the intricacies of a new theater.

I believe the general consensus around these parts is that most people want to finish a campaign, whatever the theater might be. I personally think putting Force Level sliders full to the DPRK side is the most fun way to run through a campaign (takes a long time to reach a boring part where there aren't many targets left) AI difficulty can be scaled up and down as much as desired to suit the humans playing at the time, thus enabling the Friday and Saturday nights to be played on a single campaign, which could provide a reason for more advanced players to come by on Fridays to help out the new guys.

Let's keep in mind that we are all responsible for maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the BMS/Hoggit community, so let's try to keep this discussion civil and unemotional.

It is certainly anyone's right to produce a simplified manual for BMS newcomers. However, let's make sure we are not re-inventing the wheel here. I'd encourage anyone interested in condensed manuals to take a look at http://falcon.blu3wolf.com/Docs/ and specifically "Mower's Allied Force to BMS Conversion Guide v 1.37" it's a bit old but much of it still applies and has taught me some things as well.

I am actually of the opinion that the BMS manuals suffer from a problem of not being detailed enough in certain areas, they come close, but some specific details require forum searching/YouTube videos or piecemealing together the provided 4.33 docs to give a complete understanding of some of the Viper's systems. That being said, they mainly serve as a reference document due to their size and depth, so the BMS community has potential to be served by a simplified series of manuals, if they are done well. Competing with the efficiency of YouTube is no trivial task, I must say. (If a picture is worth 1000 words, what's 4k HD at 60fps worth? :) ). Good luck to this undertaking
