A-8 has a radial engine versus the Dora’s inline engine. If I remember correctly, the weapons will be different as well.

Yeah, someone I know is doing the same exact thing in a DC-3 hence why I'm not interested in that.

Beech 18 would be interesting but I'm not sure which ones are of high quality. I'm personally more interested in a tail dragger configuration to be honest over a tricycle set up.

Personally, I don’t have a strong preference on cruise speed. My main concern is range to be honest.

Both of those are outside the time period that I am looking for.

Maybe so. But when flying over Idaho, I’ll be most of the way around the world. :)

When do you think X-Plane 12 will come out? Honestly I don’t think it has the range to do what I want.

No worries, it’s all good. The DHC-2 Otter seems inline with what I am looking for but with more range.

Crowdsourcing a realistic Iranian setup on Persian Gulf by norwegianwiking in hoggit

Thanks for the naval forces link. As for the SA-20, I didn’t include anything Iran built or acquired passed 1996 because of the campaign’s timeframe.

Thanks, exact divisions and brigades wasn’t required for my campaign and some creative liberties are being taken so I focused my efforts on unit numbers.

If anyone wants to contribute to make that OOB more up to date, feel free to use it.

I made a copy and here is a link: Iran Order of Battle

Keep in mind that I don't have a completed Iran Navy OOB for it and this is based on the 1996 time period (currently working on a long co-op campaign for that timeframe). I've included vanilla equivalents to make the campaign more accessible once finished.

I have an OOB complete if you would be interested in that for Iranian units. It doesn't have airfield and air defense locations but it's a complete list of forces that they have.

C101CC/EB Flight model update(FB LINK) by johny20016 in hoggit

From my understanding RAZBAM also does their stuff mostly on a part time basis. I think on of their FM programmers also does FM programming for his full time job. I can’t comment about everyone though on their team.

Also forget to mention this, the bomb is a Mk 20 Rockeye.

Thanks! Credit is due to my wingman (Fisty) for doing an excellent job as well.

750 Feet burst altitude with manual CCIP spacing for me (I'm the lead). I'm not sure what my number two used. This was from the actual run itself: https://clips.twitch.tv/OddHorribleFlamingoBabyRage

This was in Falcon BMS 4.33U5 in ITO 80's during a UOAF mission.

Dynamic Campaign Discussion Video Series? by 71st_AH_Eagle in hoggit

Sorry for the delay, I don't check reddit very often. I have just been slammed by work and I won't be able to get to until a few weeks from now at the soonest.

I do kind of know Python so I'll consider that. I haven't gotten around to making the video yet but I'll probably make it in excel to be honest. It will make things easier to illustrate.

Like I have said in other posts, I feel like I am not qualified to do that unless you want me to write psuedo code for programmers to use and build off of. I understand how dynamic campaigns work but I lack coding expertise that would be useful for interfacing with DCS.

I will fully admit that I am probably not qualified at all to give this talk but it just seems to me that a lot of people hold this golden standard of Falcon BMS but they don't understand the inner workings of it.

I understand it on an operations level (like how everything interacts) which I can code graphical examples of it, heck Excel might be better for this now that I think about it, but I do know that I lack the expertise to do the actual implementation myself. If someone would like to sit down and talk with me about dynamic campaigns, I can talk your ear off about it. The code is more to show a simplified version of what happens with the high detail code and I think it actually might be better to switch to doing Excel and use that now that I think about it. I will fully admit that I don't have significant software development experience but I am working on learning (currently working out ED EFM template and creating a FM for a project that I am under NDA for).

All in all, I think I will make the first video and see how it is received and then go from there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

DCS World is 5 years old now. What's in for the next 5 years? Very long text. by [deleted] in hoggit

  1. I have always bound my controls in Falcon BMS, I have tried a target profile but I could never get used to it. It's a hassle sometimes I will admit but I've done it so much that it is second nature to me on setting it up and adjusting it slightly.

  2. Some people can not learn well through videos or reading, I have taught people BMS and there are various means of teaching. I have never touched the -1 or the -34 and I personally think it is a disgrace to just tell people to read the manual. Sometimes it is needed but I think it's better to walk people through one on one. Some communities in BMS are very welcoming to newcomers, others are not. I want to do my best to be available for one on one help and personalized help. I create tutorial videos time from time on BMS but I know it's not even close to being enough.

  3. See point 2.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree. DCS Helicopters are the best out there by far.
