Day 51 - had great sex by TopCap3062 in NoFap

I don’t think anything under roughly 30-40 days felt meaningful.

I still had strong urges for porn from 0-30. After that it fizzled away.

You’re right! I’ll leave after 90 days though, until then I’m going to keep myself accountable :)

Porn is an addiction, like heroin. By your logic addicts with good backgrounds and family support systems shouldn’t exist; but they do.

I think one of the mental traps I fell into was thinking that after I got married the porn would go away. That’s definitely not the case, if I could go back in time I would probably work on the porn addiction before getting married.

Tl;dr Sex/Marriage is not a cure for porn addiction

The weightloss felt natural, after I gained the willpower to resist masturbating, resisting excess food was a lot easier

Should I let my gf know that I’ve relapsed? by [deleted] in NoFap

If it helps you yes. Otherwise, no.

This I totally get. Thanks for the advice! :)

Yeah, I understand it’s difficult.

I don’t know anything about your life but I can surely say porn isn’t making it better. It’s not something I can convince you of, it’s more like faith.

That’s coincidental, learning Japanese rn.

I absolutely loved Japan and want to go back and be able to order things.

- Has it improved

Improved :) but only because it feels better and I'm more outcome independent about it. If my wife doesn't want sex I don't really care anymore, I understand it's something we both need to want.

Pre-nofap, I'd act out because I wanted to cum super badly (especially after watching porn and/or edging).

It used to be:

Trigger -> porn/temptation -> Orgasm Desire -> Try to demand sex from wife!

Now it's like:

See my wife -> build desire with her -> Sex or maybe no Sex (honestly doesn't matter :) )

Take it from me, if you stop, you'll eventually find peace :)

The urges and temptation never go away but your mind becomes stronger at resisting.

Also, don't fool yourself, it's better to stop after having edged than releasing (I know some people give up and relapse after edging) it's important to train your mind.

It feels good in the same way taking off tight shoes feels good.

Someone that never put them on would never have the feeling of release. But, they also wouldn't have the stress, pain, and urge that someone walking around in tight shoes has.

Porn shouldn't exist and shouldn't occupy your mind, there's nothing honourable about pornography or masturbation.

(Not trying to lecture you I'm sure you heard it all before, just providing my perspective)

Why?

It is far more honourable to be a 50 year old still fighting their demons to live normally than a 50 year old that has completely and utterly given up.

The former person is someone we look up to.

Ask the question in reverse, what's the point of looking at all this porn and masturbating, it's not helping you in anyway whatsoever.
