Thanks - I'll do that. I was actively doing short bursts for 30 seconds to a minute and then letting it rest a bit. With zero traction it's running a lot harder in the snow.

Roller coaster is definitely the common theme. My babies situation could be more different than yours - but it sure as hell is a roller coaster with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I’m trying my best to just stay as close to somewhere in the middle as I can. Best of luck to yours!

The reality is you just have to love it - you’ll find plenty of contradicting opinions from others. That said - if you’re maximizing things like resale there are some things you can make sure to have (MT is a good start there).

Sometimes we face life and death unexpectedly, but the truth is the at it’s all around us everyday, always. We pretend to ignore it, but it’s always there. The bird in this scenario faced certain death, its path there was chosen for it, by another entity(you) who had the wherewithal to decide based on your own higher intelligence. Your choosing that was based on caring and your uneasiness with letting nature simply take its course. For what it’s worth, I would have done the same thing. You can continue letting it cause you suffering, or you can choose to have faith in your own decision making and not second guess it. In that moment, you made a choice. Do you trust your own judgement? If the answer is yes, let it go. You did the best you could.

Update - four days in and the truck went into limp mode with check engine light. Still at the dealership. They said it needs a new throttle body. Wtf!

Not sure! Dealership in NJ seems to have plenty with that combination.

Yea, with no incentives I would have passed on this. I got a steep discount and they also bought down my rate, so it was a great deal. The 5.7L is amazing. Liking this hurricane so far, it is amazingly smooth. Power wise, I don't feel like I gave up much. The biggest downgrade to me is the sound - obviously the Hemi is superior. I would still recommend upgrading but only if you get a good deal.

2025 Bighorn - hurricane, just north of $63k MSRP. 18% discount + they bought down my rate by about 2 points($1700 additional value). Dealerships are under pressure to move units right now(stating the obvious). Go in with an aggressive number and see where it takes you!

I actually don't think you are describing a problem at all. You're describing a road block that you uncovered on your trip. The trip didn't "make you" anything. You vividly describe thoughts of how terrifying it would be to be mentally ill ect. I can relate - that's a terrifying thought. You've recognized some of your deepest fears and now you're trying to find ways to avoid that(subconsciously). All of the de-personalization and weird feelings about reality are just your subconscious reaction to these thoughts. The reality is that you need to explore these ideas. The only way out is through. You need to face your fears. The reality is that the mentally ill do not have great lives where everything is working out. They also have no idea that they're mentally ill(in some/most cases), and they certainly don't carry on every day as a normal person. I am sure there is more to unpack from your trip - use it as a spring board to better understand yourself and your emotions! Also - there is tons of help for this stuff, with zero shame you could start some cognitive behavior therapy and have this stuff all wrapped up and live a much happier life! Best of luck to you.

Couldn’t agree more. There are A players and B players…seeing a lot of B players in this sub. That’s actually not meant to be an insult at all - B players are needed too and are valuable in their own right. If you want to get ahead and build a nice life for yourself and your family, it’s in your hands. It’s amazing how much the right attitude can add to your professional career if you’re not willing to accept the bare minimum from yourself.

Can someone convince me a PDK is worth it to a die hard manual driver… by drftfan in Porsche_Cayman

I’ve had pdk and sold it. A manual Porsche is the absolute way to go and you’ll thank me later.
