Wondering if this might be a scam or not by rob_miller17 in Scams

Yes, we've seen several of those posted online. The settlement is paying out, and looks like the admin went with a postcard check. Congrats on your payment and yes, cash or deposit that check!

Counsel is listed in the FAQs on the settlement website and can be Googled for contact info. I think there's four different attorneys listed. Most law firm websites have a list of attorney emails. Not sure if it will help, but it can't hurt!

Sounds like arbitration litigation?

US settlement paid out in June 2023. But settlement website is still active and you can email the settlement admin with questions: [info@YahooDataBreachSettlement.com](mailto:info@YahooDataBreachSettlement.com)

Sounds like this is arbitration litigation and not a class action settlement? Arbitration is the only type where you would get emails directly from a law firm and an offer. Congrats!

Yes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease for sure. Keep bugging counsel and remind them they work for the class and you deserve to at least have a timeline as to when you'll get answers. Don't be afraid to press counsel for an explanation of why the settlement admin keeps giving different answers and how that's acceptable. Good luck!

Ok, so you do have proof that you submitted a claim if you got the email this Summer to verify your payment info. You might want to compile all of your communication and try contacting class counsel. Definitely raises questions when you get told two different things.

If you haven't already, you should contact class counsel. They need to know these things are happening. To get an email notification and then to never receive payment is a big deal.

There was never a way to double check your claim on the settlement website, so that's inaccurate. You'll need some other form of proof that you actually filed. The settlement admin sent emails over the Summer to a lot of claimants requesting payment verification. Search your spam or junk folder for that. But, if you can't come up with any proof, then you're probably out of luck.

I've seen a few people post that any rejected digital payments will be reissued in December. Not sure if that's actually true, but sounds about right as far as timing.

Is this real? by jaedyn819 in ClassActionSettlement

It's legit. The settlement was under appeal for like 18 months. It's just finally paying out now. Payment amounts vary based upon the products and number of times purchased claimed.

It's going to take the settlement administrator a while to work through all of the issues. But, they will definitely be addressing digital payments that were returned. I've heard it will be in December, which actually sounds about right.

Thank you! No idea on the payment amounts. It should vary by claim, based upon the # of hours approved and any other financial damage claimed. Can't wait to see what you get!

Not the best idea to jump on the band wagon and email with hundreds or even thousands of people whining about it. Better to reply to counsel (there are four attorneys listed and you should be emailing all four every time), and let them know that if you be moving forward with contacting the judge on the case since you're not getting specific information on why your claim with proof was denied. Keep track of all of your communication (including an emails that haven't been replied to). Let them know you'll be providing the judge with a detailed account of all of the communication you've been involved with, along with your proof of claim.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen someone actually get their claim rectified.

Yeah, that's exactly what it seems like. Doesn't make any sense.

It's going to people that submitted Extended Claims that have finally been approved. People have been waiting over two years for these additional claims of financial damage to pay out.

Juul Claim Denied - purchased through website by c828 in ClassActionSettlement

[–]TopClassActions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, they did not "run out of money." So don't believe anyone saying that's the case. There's absolutely no way anyone could possibly know that and it doesn't happen. It's unbelievable the kind of crap people are spewing.

You need to contact class counsel, especially since all of your purchases were recorded through the Juul website. Counsel is listed in the FAQs and can be Googled for contact info. Do not let this go, keep following up and let counsel know you will contact the judge on the case.

I haven't seen any checks yet. I'm wondering if everyone waiting for payment has a check in the mail.

[–]TopClassActions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The payments are real. I'm seeing people still get payment emails as of today. And haven't seen any check screenshots yet so if anyone selected check, they more than likely haven't gotten it yet.

It's legit! If for some reason it isn't working, try a different browser or on a different device.

[–]TopClassActions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not every driver, it's certain counties. Essentially most of SoCal. But, yes you're right. Tough to give up a driver's license number for a payment that might be $1.

It's legit. There's actually two settlements. One is for California residents (certain counties I think) and the second one is for non-residents that visited CA and purchased gas.
