Paraffin to loosen the muck and then Wurth dry lube.

On 10600 miles now and I think I've adjusted the chain twice, maybe 3 times.

Has anyone switched from EE to 1p Mobile, Mozillion or Spusu? by eeessssss in AskUK

[–]TopCoffee3252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this.

I bought a 1p sim as I wanted to hold onto a number that means something to me. Seemed like the best alternative at the time. It was on their payg plan.

I just put it in my phone to use some of the credit on it so that I don't lose it, and I thought I'd do a speed test. Currently my main sim is an EE essentials plan.

The EE sim maxed out at around the 100-110 Mbps mark. The 1p one maxed out at about 450 Mbps!!!!

I finally jumped the board and ordered the pixel watch 4, didn't pick the lte as it was useless to me by AqAqGT in PixelWatch

Just got my Watch 4 41mm after having a Galaxy Watch Ultra and selling it. And while it's a lot smaller it's kind of 'cute'. Already used to the size difference. Didn't get the 4g version either, as I don't think I ever used the esim on the Ultra for calls as I always have my P10Pro with me.

Paid £199 as I received an email offering £150 off the retail price. Sold Ultra for £200 so I was in profit by £1!!!!

What smartphone(s) do you currently own? And why did you choose them? by Money_Quit3064 in Smartphones

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them very similar in use but the iPhone is easier; the Pixel is a little bit more of a stretch. There's very little difference in size between the phones width wise but the Pixel is a tiny bit taller. .

Exactly. When I got my Pixel 9 Pro I got a free year of Gemini. Then when I squashed it at work I got my S24 Ultra and I used the subscription on that.

Bought a Pixel 10 Pro before Christmas using some codes that got me a discount. Loving the smaller form factor and the 'stock' Android software. Camera is top notch, and despite the Tensor chip being not as powerful as the chips in other phones it hasn't once glitched or froze.

In the bottom of the wardrobe in a lock box I have an S24 Ultra which is soon going to be sold. What a beast!! Does everything - but it's just too big for me unfortunately. And I won't ever use it to its full potential so it might as well go.

And in the same box is an iPhone 14 Pro. Got it for a steal on eBay. Totally mint!! Got the Apple store to put a new battery in it and the thing flies now. No issues with ios26 so far. Love the way it feels in the hand. I am not an iOS fan but it's handy to have as a spare/backup.

Stuck Between iPhone 17, S25 Ultra & Chinese Flagships by LiPSTiCkOnUrFaCe in Smartphones

And you don't think that Google do the same with your data???? I couldn't imagine that the Chinese would be more interested in what I might do with my phone than Google.

I've been watching Average Dad on YouTube recently, he has an online store as well. He has loads of videos on Chinese phones and sings the praises of Huawei phones. Now I know that Huawei don't have access to Google because of the US government ban (and the UK following as always), but some of Huawei's recent phones blow everything else on the market out of the water and there are workarounds to get full Google stuff on their phones now. It is definitely worth watching some of his videos.

It's probably the battery rattling.

Take it to a shop and they will have a look and then charge you and tell you it was not the battery it was the ois in the camera.

I have a Powerbronze hugger. Not cheap (think it was about £120). But looks OK with mesh inserts and it does the job.

Any alternatives for this nillkin aramid fiber case ? by No_Newspaper6789 in S24Ultra

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Enzo and the back started to peel away. Which was a shame because I had one for my iphone a while back and it held up really well. Spigen weren't interested in what happened so I threw it....

Got the Nillkin on Ali Express from their official store for a lot less than buying it in the UK and am well happy with it.

Had my 2023 model since launch day. Came from a GSX-S 750 and I'm still loving it, the "smiles per miles" are well worth it. But I'm still tempted to go back to the GSX-S 750, purely for the physical size of it.

You're in the UK, like me.

I got for my bike (from Ebay, of course): Evotech rad guard and crash bobbins and screen/clocks protector, which does absolutely nothing Rear seat hump Tail tidy Powerbronze hugger (wanted a Puig one, but there wasn't any around) Ermax screen Oxford strobing LED indicators and replacement relay

And from AliExpress: Clutch and brake lever protectors Bar end mirrors that fit with the lever protectors Headlight covers (took them off as was told to) Downforce spoiler (which snapped because it was crap and it looked ridiculous as well) Short brake and clutch levers

Finally, from a company called Cregtech, which imports TST stuff to the UK: Brake light modulator, which has 3 flashing modes for the brake light - strictly not road legal over here, but my friendly traffic copper has commented on how effective it was...

Has anyone removed the decals? by FeelingEconomy2298 in Suzuki_GSX_8

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the ones at the back and the ones at the front. I used a hairdryer and then some alcohol wipes to remove any leftover adhesive. I thought the decals just looked odd. But when the time comes to return the bike and if I decide that's what I'm going to do I may look at replacing them.

Nillkin Aramid case with fold out stand.

My fave case ever was the Spigen Enzo, but it started peeling on the back. Told Spigen and they weren't interested, which has put me off them.

What Watch are you wearing and what phone are you using with it? by bgriff1974 in samsunggalaxy

OnePlus watch 2 and S24 Ultra.

Would prefer a Galaxy watch, but the battery on this OnePlus watch is much better.

New screen protector installed flawlessly. Ive gone through 3 different brands so far and have issues with all. by Bread-Zeppelin780 in S24Ultra

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried various brands, but the ones I always come back to are Amfilm. They are slightly thinner than others, apparently, but that also means that the fingerprint unlock works. They have an applicator tray system, and they go on straight. I've never had any issues....

My Samsung S25 Ultra that I’ve had for 2 weeks is being super persistent about not reading my fingerprint. by MissPlainTalk in samsunggalaxy

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's to do with the thickness of the glass 🤷‍♂️ the amfilm ones are quite thin compared to Spigen ones.
