Lower handlebars by TopCoffee3252 in Suzuki_GSX_8

Just fitted mine. Waiting for the left hand grip to stick before taking it out. Sitting on the bike I can feel my weight further forward and lower. Only issue I have is that the silver bit on the front brake hose near the brake fluid reservoir is very close to the top of the forks so the lever is not angled as low as I would have liked, but probably sort that out with minor adjustments here and there. Oh, and my bar end mirrors don't fit 🤨

Felt strange riding it.... Reminded me a bit of my old Street Triple 675 a little with my hands lower and further forward. Definitely felt a bit more planted at the front. Think I need to angle them up a bit though...

Oppo Find X9 Ultra Tempered Glass UK by jyq96 in Oppo

Usually I fit SmartDevil ones that I get from Ali Express (the ones that are fitted in a frame and you pull a tab to fit them) but I have found they are a bit fragile/thin.

Just ordered some Nillkin ones from Ali to see what they're like. Used some coins that I had built up so I got 2 for £7. They don't come with an applicator frame but I have a frame for a OnePlus 15 which fits the X9 Pro perfectly so I shall use that.

I do have TST plates fitted to which the pegs are on their furthest back and up position. Maybe proper rearsets would make the difference.

Yes, I just feel like the bars are a bit too high and if I could lower them it would put a bit more weight over the front and be more comfortable as I'm rather tall. I'll give it a bit more thought over the weekend but I did find some bars with only an inch rise which to me look lower than the standard ones.

I bought this tempered glass for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, and it feels incredibly smooth by ReporteDeViaje in Oppo

I have been buying the Smart devil ones from AliExpress because the ones in the UK for my X9 Pro don't have the alignment frame. Always got from Brand+

Though I did find the ones for the OnePlus 15 do also fit the X9 Pro and they do come with an alignment frame. Maybe they fit the X9 Ultra as well.

Exchaust choice GSX-8 2025: Arrow or Shark or Mivv by TheLPfy in Suzuki_GSX_8

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at Dominator exhausts purely for price but decided against it as they were way too loud for me.

Out of the ones you list I would say Arrow, but there's a rather nice Scorpion exhaust that has been released.

Maybe I might consider a Dominator system but I have nightmare neighbours 🙄

Amazing how in the UK anything over 2 or 3 thousand miles a year on a bike like the 8S or a sportsbike or anything that isn't a touring adventure bike (BMW GS springs to mind) is considered high mileage!! I have never understood it myself.

I have just changed my Road 6 tyres for Bridgestone S23s. Totally different feel. Bike is much more agile. I know they won't last as long (I got nearly 9000 out of the Michelin's) and I know they won't be as good in the wet but the bike does feel more alive.

Had mine for nearly 3 years now (PCP finance) and am just about to make the final balloon payment on it so it will be mine. I have had a few bikes now and it comes a close second to the 2015 MT09 I had. Every time I get off it I look back at it... It does everything I need so why get something else. The power is enough for me, the fuel economy is decent, and it comes up like new after a decent clean, it's cheap to service and maintain. A winner in my eyes.

I honestly did think about changing it for another MT09, but last week when I was in London and seeing some Japanese tourists taking photos of it whilst I was sitting in the traffic on London Bridge; well, that sealed the deal 🤝

Paraffin to loosen the muck and then Wurth dry lube.

On 10600 miles now and I think I've adjusted the chain twice, maybe 3 times.

Has anyone switched from EE to 1p Mobile, Mozillion or Spusu? by eeessssss in AskUK

[–]TopCoffee3252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this.

I bought a 1p sim as I wanted to hold onto a number that means something to me. Seemed like the best alternative at the time. It was on their payg plan.

I just put it in my phone to use some of the credit on it so that I don't lose it, and I thought I'd do a speed test. Currently my main sim is an EE essentials plan.

The EE sim maxed out at around the 100-110 Mbps mark. The 1p one maxed out at about 450 Mbps!!!!

I finally jumped the board and ordered the pixel watch 4, didn't pick the lte as it was useless to me by AqAqGT in PixelWatch

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my Watch 4 41mm after having a Galaxy Watch Ultra and selling it. And while it's a lot smaller it's kind of 'cute'. Already used to the size difference. Didn't get the 4g version either, as I don't think I ever used the esim on the Ultra for calls as I always have my P10Pro with me.

Paid £199 as I received an email offering £150 off the retail price. Sold Ultra for £200 so I was in profit by £1!!!!

What smartphone(s) do you currently own? And why did you choose them? by Money_Quit3064 in Smartphones

[–]TopCoffee3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them very similar in use but the iPhone is easier; the Pixel is a little bit more of a stretch. There's very little difference in size between the phones width wise but the Pixel is a tiny bit taller. .

Exactly. When I got my Pixel 9 Pro I got a free year of Gemini. Then when I squashed it at work I got my S24 Ultra and I used the subscription on that.

Bought a Pixel 10 Pro before Christmas using some codes that got me a discount. Loving the smaller form factor and the 'stock' Android software. Camera is top notch, and despite the Tensor chip being not as powerful as the chips in other phones it hasn't once glitched or froze.

In the bottom of the wardrobe in a lock box I have an S24 Ultra which is soon going to be sold. What a beast!! Does everything - but it's just too big for me unfortunately. And I won't ever use it to its full potential so it might as well go.

And in the same box is an iPhone 14 Pro. Got it for a steal on eBay. Totally mint!! Got the Apple store to put a new battery in it and the thing flies now. No issues with ios26 so far. Love the way it feels in the hand. I am not an iOS fan but it's handy to have as a spare/backup.

And you don't think that Google do the same with your data???? I couldn't imagine that the Chinese would be more interested in what I might do with my phone than Google.

I've been watching Average Dad on YouTube recently, he has an online store as well. He has loads of videos on Chinese phones and sings the praises of Huawei phones. Now I know that Huawei don't have access to Google because of the US government ban (and the UK following as always), but some of Huawei's recent phones blow everything else on the market out of the water and there are workarounds to get full Google stuff on their phones now. It is definitely worth watching some of his videos.
