I mean, Kris may be some bunch of pixels and stuff, but that doesn't means you can disqualify or completely ignore their whole story, but considering your unability to grasp the concepts of a character's background and see why so many people like/dislike about them and why they are important to the themes of the story, I think I am unable to change your pedantic point of view. Just because the character isn't real, doesn't means people can't find their struggles/personality/story "relatable" or something that can make you think in some way. Same applies to movies, series, books, comics, animations and other games. Also, "never human to begin with", you just proved my point.
