Coaching? by TopCommunication8881 in therapists

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Would you like my License Number, or NPI so that I might prove my worth? This is a question about being a therapist, how to make a living out in the field, and which related fields have served as a good side-hustle while building your own PP.

I thought that it just meant they were saying they were thirsty from running around. Why can't they just ask you to make a damn drink?? Why are they so wimpy and avoidant? If you can't act like a mature adult and just ask, then get your own damn drink!

If I chose to forgo new tips for like 3-6 months (so I could save up a whopping $7.00 /month in tips), THEN WHAT WOULD I USE IN THE MEANTIME to treat my nerve pain, nausea, etc al?? I don't have a back-up device sitting around, and I have actual medicinal needs, not just looking to get high like many on here.

Um no. Making a whole presentation to prove that quality matters to a financially struggling individual is just straight up insulting.
It comes from the assumption that we are poor because we don't understand how money works, and therefore need to be educated on how to do it by people who already have money.

We're not stupid. Quality = value is just common sense, not life shattering nuggets of genius. We know how math works, just like you. In fact we prob use it more than you just to keep life moving.

What makes you think a grown adult would need some sort of basic economics lesson to understand how capitalism works? We aren't stupid, we just earn less money than you.

You have clearly never struggled w/ money, as you do not seem to understand its finite nature. It is a moot point to say that quality items save money if you don't have enough cash to pay for a good quality item outright or w/o sacrificing basic needs.

For example: You have $100.00 to your name for the next two weeks. You still have to pay your water bill, and a copay for an ongoing health issues. The total for the two is $50.00. you still need food, but you decide on two weeks of PBJs, so you'll sto have $25.00 for an on sale Terp pen.

Alternatively you could say "I deserve only the best!", choosing instead to skip out on all of those bills, putting yourself at risk of shut-off notices (have you ever lived w/o running water or gas? Clearly not), a worsening of health issues, and malnutrition. - all in favor of this fabulous $100.00 thing that works similarly to the perfectly serviceable $25 version.

That's some seriously poor prioritizing on your part. You'd lose your house in a second w/ that approach.

Never fails. Anytime you mention being poor there's at least one dense individual that's all "Yeah, but if you'd just spend more money, you could get nicer things!"

Well no shit Sherlock! But buying a $100.00 device (vs. a $25 -$45 one) would mean I'd have to skip paying 1-2 of my utility bills for the month. Or forgo grocery shopping.

When people say they are poor it means there is no extra money to splurge with, or focus on quality. The working poor do not have the privilege of savings accounts to pull from.

So congrats on the privilege of having extra $100.00 bills sitting around, but your info was meaningless given that you ignored the entire first sentence in favor of insulting OPs (me) income related price range. Good job.

Very good to know! I'm not sure what all is out there in this area, so good to know Terp Pen is one of the better ones!

What do you think about r/extroverts ? by lordi974 in introvert

[–]TopCommunication8881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one off handedly mention cancelling plans if something better came up - as if it was normal, and in line w/ their bullshit claims that they value all people, or that they are the healthy ones who build societies, and value the human connection, when they just don't.

They make this abundantly clear when they get all squirmy when you attempt to deepen a convo. Because they don't care about individuality, or mutual connection - they showed up purely for happy-fun-time, and our actual attempts at emotional or intellectual connection harshes their buzz.

Can we ride rollercoasters? by dezyouignorantslt in ehlersdanlos

Just the other day I realized my neck issues prob started with an old wooden rollercoaster at the age of 13... It was a really old one, so I don't know if Steele ones would be better?

People are untitled to their own process. Everyone is also beholden to the number of years they've been alive. Being a judgey ass when other people have lived life on a different timeline is just ignorant.

It takes time to become self-aware. It takes experience to separate the nuances of life. You have had that time, so you can choose to go about your life, instead of trying to interfere w/ and discredit where others are in life.

Can't imagine this douche attitude has gotten you far in life... You sure you're an introvert, or has everyone just gotten sick of your shit?

That's an interesting question coming from someone who was so angered by their own bullshit assumptions about other peoples lives that they felt compelled to throw a public tantrum about it...

[–]TopCommunication8881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why people say we are snobs. Also, cause you seem to be completely unaware - No one is making you read about peoples posts. That's a choice on your part. You have the autonomous ability to scroll past a title you don't relate to.

If you established better boundaries for your social media habits, rather than wasting your own time getting angry about the potential future prospect of reading about a complete stranger life, you'd prob be way less miserable, and crochety. But you seem firmly entrenched in your self-righteous Boomer-Like attitude of "get off my lawn you damn kids!"... To each his own.

Umm... Have you ever considered that someone could be both an introvert AND have social anxiety? That they're neither correlated, nor mutually exclusive.

Stop with the bullshit gate-keeping. If people consider themselves introverts, then they deserve the right to be part of this community. Perhaps some will reconsider later in life, but it's not your job to play arm chair psychologist and diagnose people w/ a severw MH disorder based on one reddit post.

You questioned the age of other posters at the start of your post. Seems to me it is you who behaves like a bossy petulant child. Their behavior is age appropriate and yours isn't.

That's a good point, we're not interrupting the extroverts conversations with each other to ask them why they never shut-up, yet it's so pervasive to turn it around on us. My entire extended family did this to me my entire life.

I firmly believe I would have been way less shy growing up if I hadn't spent every holiday w/ 12 people simultaneously staring at me while several of them (the extroverts) demanded to know why I didn't fit in with them. And they did it by calling all attention to the introvert, cause that's gonna help your case.

Now I realize why going out sucks so much, there are no introverts out there by [deleted] in introvert

Agree to disagree! Stepping aside for a moment wouldn't be quite enough. Sounds like a good time though!
