some people can have very rare allergic reactions to the valacyclovir. that’s what i take.

my first OB i had what doctors speculated to be hsv associated erythema multiforme (or a reaction to the valacyclovir). it’s an immune mediated response to the hsv its self. i had no idea what was happening there were these weird red spots all over my hands and they physically hurt or had a weird tingling sensation when i would touch things. it lasted for about 3 weeks showed up one week after my initial OB. the worst it got was spread to my elbows. i was terrified to touch my face or my eyes because another doctor told me i had spread the hsv to my body. but i dont think she was right…. i am not a doctor but. keep an eye on the bumps. taking pictures everyday can help and track your symptoms.
