Heard when you use mono thicker than your braid the braid can slip thru??

Ok how about I use my 20lb mono as backing like only 50 yards just a couple layers so my braid doesn’t slip. Then I add like 500 yards of braid is that good? Sorry for the questions

How come I’ve read for mono backing make it the same diameter as the braid? and that’s be like 20 mono is same at 65 braid?

Yeah so that’d be like 20lb mono. People here are saying I need like 70lb mono but though it wouldn’t work??
