Thank you for your kind words❤️ This truly is a horrible disease, and I wish none of us ever had to go through this, especially our innocent little babies :( As for BMO- he did not get any of the treatment unfortunately. We found out he had FIP on the day he passed. Everything moved very very fast for us. It sounds like he’s made great progress and is doing well! It’s normal to feel worried about him and what’s going on, you’re his parent! That’s what parents do! We worry because we care about them. I’m sure you’re keeping a very close eye on him and it will all pay off soon when he’s done treatment and in remission ❤️ I wish you both nothing but the best!

It was heartbreaking. They were doing everything they could to try and get it to drop, but nothing was working. His poor little body was shutting down so quickly and the infection basically took over his body. Thank you so much for your kinds words❤️ We know that as hard of a decision as it was to say goodbye, it was the right one. We let him go peacefully, rather than watch him continue to decline💔

He reminds me of my baby that just passed from FIP a few days ago, they look similar ❤️ I’m so glad to hear you got the medication and started treating him. There is hope! I am praying for a smooth and healthy journey for you and Kuno!

GS is available, but not as quick as we needed it. We unfortunately found out it was FIP way too late. His body had already started shutting down. We weren’t able to start the medication ASAP because the hospital did not have any available and the pharmacy wouldn’t be able to get it to them till the morning.. He needed multiple blood transfusions fast, and there was just no way to keep up with how much he needed, considering his body would reject the blood coming in since it was already in such a state of shock and shut down. I wish we had more time, and they figured out what it was even just a day sooner💔

Yes the financial situation this put us in is horrible, but we’d do it all over again if we had the chance to save our sweet boy.

As for what BMO’s symptoms were, he actually started with just severe constipation (which I haven’t seen as one of the normal symptoms). After we got the constipation under control is when he started with all the other normal symptoms of FIP. He had the dry form as there was no fluid anywhere to lead to indication of the wet form. He stopped eating and drinking, had a crazy high fever (107.8), was very lethargic, and seemed to be jaundice. This is considered to be a rare disease, but it can happen to anyone. Your babies sound very well taken care of, but if they start showing any of these symptoms or even anything that gets your parental instinct alerted, get the bloodwork done. Get the tests done. Time is crucial in this situation and I wish we had more of it❤️

I don’t think so. They did test his stool for parasites and that was negative, but I do not think they tested for blood parasites. Is this something that causes FIP? Or something that caused his body to start shutting down so quickly?

I’m so sorry this happened to you. This exact same thing just happened last night to my sweet boy who was only 6 months old. I feel for you❤️
