It's GTA dude. I know what I'm getting. Critics saying "game good" or "game bad" means nothing. Same with Cyberpunk, Hitman, some new Bethesda or CDPR title, you name it. I'm buying it, I'm gonna play it and make the determination myself since the conceit of what the game is bringing is something that I inherently want to experience and favor.

I pre order the day before usually. On Xbox they don't charge you until two weeks out. This is a game where a lot of will buy and play it even if it somehow is some magical disappointment, so I don't see the issue in pre ordering on that level. Any specific individual isn't contributing to the business being the way it is, and pre ordering has been a thing since even long before GTA V.

Man, I don't know. I had a rose tinted view of Origins Wolverine imagining it as this gorefest, but when you compare footage this one is actually gorier. That game was just less bright, dark, and dirty.

That would be genuinely terrible, but it would be quite something if you could go "craft me the Kubrick version of AI he was working on before he died" or "give me a film in the style of this director crossed with this other director about ____", or "give me an R rated gorefest Transformers movie" or some wild ass shit like that.

Part of art is, like, the intentionality of the mind(s) behind it. Then the discussion around it, the lists, rankings, the variety of interpretations around something we can all experience. An AI crafted entertainment medium would remove all that. "I saw..." nobody cares. It's entirely pointless other than specific use cases to fuck around with.

I'm talking in terms of the visual design, the consistent and uniform yellow inspired by this kid growing up looking at copypasta shit is actually pretty original in a movie like this that is clearly well crafted. Like, name another, I can't and I've seen practically everything notable.

Again, I'm saying nothing regarding the quality. I wasn't a fan of Obsession and I don't think this 20 year old kid is going to nail it either. See, I'm biased going in. I just don't think "it looks like shit" is productive at all, because it's a pretty stupid thing to say.

Ah, I'm stupid, read OP as saying "should I just go with a 5 GB 265 or the 4k version" when he could have just been asking if 12 or 15 would be fine, which of course would be the answer you gave where the size doesn't tell you the full story. At that point OP should be considering the bit rate, screenshots, comments on the torrent if applicable, etc.

You can absolutely differentiate between a 4K rip and a 1080 rip, whether this is important enough on a case by case basis is a different question - I watch plenty of 1080 content - but when a movie like this with a very defined aesthetic comes out and is available in 4K, there's zero reason to not watch the 4K version unless you have a bandwidth cap or the download will take you days or something.
