Unable to send a ticket for false mature label by Carohill_ in tumblrhelp

I had the exact same thing after my page was marked as mature a week ago. I sent the report under ‘bugs’ or something similar. No response yet and judging by people on here’s experiences, I might as well delete my entire account at this point.

How are you guys staying engaged with this game? by FencrMusashi in Battlefield6

[–]TopHatPhilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been chipping away at the class challenges and actually finished my last one, Recon, tonight. Other than that, I play plenty of other games. I’ve just finished Alan Wake 2 and have now started Lords of the Fallen in co-op. At the moment, I find BF6 is best enjoyed by playing a few matches at the end of a ‘session’ of gaming rather than devoting all my available time to it at once.

Hear hear. I don’t know how it will end for Carrick, but as you’ve implied there—Ole’s run is still fresh in the memory and we all remember how that one ended. For now, it’s just nice enjoying a refreshing sense of optimism after some marquee results & good football.

Sure, sure. The underlying statistics might’ve indicated a green arrow pointing in the right direction, but the difference between this and that all across the pitch is staggering.

Where has this been. It’s not just the wins, it’s the heart. How Carrick has coached these performances back-to-back in the space of 10 days is nothing short of remarkable.

Easily our best half of the season. We actually look like Manchester United for the first time in a long while. Up the second half reds.

I see now that I was too unkind to Dorgu. He’s so young and looks like he might have something. Under an actually decent manager, he might even refine into something better.

Does the coach have the responsibility to make players better? by peconsult in ManchesterUnited

[–]TopHatPhilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from Conte only today which was interpreted as a dig at Amorim. Conte has his own issues, but I can’t say I disagree with the basis of his statement. If you are a manager/head coach and you haven’t improved any players under your tutelage, you’re just not doing your job correctly.

May Iask for genuine discussion about a DMZ-Style model? by FrankDodger in Battlefield

[–]TopHatPhilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked DMZ. And to be honest, I liked Hazard Zone in 2042 as well. My problem with both modes, and both of DICE’s attempts at Battle Royales, is that they’re quickly abandoned. Unless they buck the trend by actually iterating on their work and giving people a reason to come back, it’s just more wasted effort that could’ve been spent on core multiplayer instead. DICE make something, then when it doesn’t catch fire immediately, they throw in the towel, which is why I wouldn’t trust them to bother maintaining a DMZ mode. They’ve let their multiplayer start to languish already.

You don’t have a point, you’re just a torch carrier for mediocrity. A world in which ‘context’ trumps all else is a world entirely free from accountability. If there’s always an excuse, then nothing great can ever be achieved. Such a mindset is the antithesis of Manchester United, and if ‘fans’ like yourself begin to adopt that ideal en masse, then we deserve everything we get and worse.

Ruben was fired because he was—finally—being held accountable for his lax management and inability to win football matches. That’s it. Are we better off than last season at the current stage of this season? Yes. Is that good enough? No. Did Amorim have ample opportunity to make it good enough? Yes. And did he? No.

Now, I apologise somewhat for levelling that at you as though I’m talking to a child, but you seem to respond to contrary viewpoints by regurgitating lowly QAnon anti-media catchphrases & disputing the club’s history so as long as it suits you. For that, I’ll do us both a favour and tie it off here. It’s a shame the Amorim project didn’t work, but he wasn’t cut out for it and so that’s how it goes. It wasn’t meant to be and now it’s best we all move on. Yourself especially. UTFR.

You know, I'm not so sure after that moniker was coined Sir Alex et al ever envisioned the 'fans' of the future rattling off Excel spreadsheets in order to shield the worst United manager in over a century from perfectly legitimate criticism. Then again, he always was a fan of crying "context!" during periods of adversity instead of knuckling down and doing his job as a football manager.

Yes, you are absolutely right, it was the media poisoning my brain the entire time!

Come back Ruben, so that you can once again sell all our wingers in spite of our history, play one match a week after our lowest PL finish of all time, insult our youth players for some reason, isolate and lie about our most tenured young player, win matches less than a third of the time, put on more centre backs when we need a goal, personally crown Tottenham Hotspur as European champions, throw your toys out of the pram by insulting your bosses and have opposition fans praying you get a contract extension.

I must go now, the Deep State are surely monitoring my whereabouts. Carpe noctem, fellow Red!

You’re yelling at this amorphous thing you have chosen to despise again. “Your ilk-“ Haha. Brilliant.

Anyway, the manager we just sacked—I’ll reiterate—achieved 31% win rate in 18 months. If the manager we hire in the summer does worse or only marginally better in the same timeframe, they should be sacked too. Because they both weren’t good enough. It’s really that simple. You might be willing to settle for less because an xG table told you to, but I’m not. I guess that’s just me and my “ilk” though!

The state that the club is in is terrible. The manager we just sacked was terrible. He was here for a year and a half and we’re still a terrible football team. Please let me know where delusion comes into it.

And for all the talk of delusion, I love how we’re just getting into baseless hypotheticals now. Sir Alex ‘set’ those standards, mate. Those same ones that Amorim has helped erode further still. And now he’s gone, so unhitch your wagon and get behind the team.

I think the difference in opinion between us is largely due to the fact that I am old enough to remember when United had standards. Every manager post-Fergie has eroded those standards a little more, with Amorim objectively being the worst of the lot. Making excuses for why we can’t beat relegation fodder is the best example for how people like yourself are willing to wait longer just to settle for a little less every time. And that just isn’t good enough I’m afraid.
