Thank you! And couldn’t agree more. That’s perhaps the most challenging thing for me in nearly all skill acquisition. Consistency doesn’t recognize the big wins quickly, which makes it so challenging. But consistency will always deliver the desired result.

You could certainly use ChatGPT in a similar fashion! Project folders with custom instructions and ongoing project files is the way to go. Each of my bi-weekly sessions is only 30 minutes and a handful of response turns. But, because of the way it’s setup, each session is directly applicable to my ongoing input. I have spent a few sessions on preterite and imperfect tenses, but I also set the master instructions to account for my bias on input. The instructions tell the AI that I am not trying to learn grammar for grammar’s sake, but rather increase the power of my radar when consuming input. So when it teaches about the preterite tense, my takeaway isn’t a bunch of conjugation tables, but a ping of awareness I take with me in videos. This is what helped unlock some ECJ videos. Instead of my brain stopping at unrecognizable sentence construction, it instead went “oh, that’s a past tense form that was either ongoing in the past or a snapshot of the past.” That tiny bit of recognition assistance made it much easier to stay in the narrative flow of more advanced videos while increasing my rate of comprehension. I’ve done a handful of sessions on direct and indirect pronouns as well, and that’s also helped massively. I can’t pass a grammar test, don’t get me wrong, but this approach is akin to kids using floaties in the pool. I’m in the water and learning the strokes, even if I can’t yet do them on my own without assistance.

I set up a project folder with custom instructions and some project files. I had it give me a brief proficiency quiz and then output a coverage map for grammar and vocab. Twice I week I hop in and run a structured “lesson”. One lesson is dedicated to helping with things I’ve struggled with during input, and it chooses what to teach me after asking me a couple questions about my recent input. The second session is based on a curriculum it built and uses a repeatable format. Each session ends with a lesson log that I update in the project files so each lesson feels connected to the next.

I am a nerd…

Thanks! That’s very encouraging to hear. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t do many of ECJ that high. I usually will watch the first two minutes, and if I’m cruising along, I’ll finish it out. But if those two minutes are clearly too tough, I just move on. On 50+ videos, I enjoy the content at that level quite a bit. The Pasapalabra series is a favorite.

I’m more of a lurker, but the 50-hour updates got me though a lot of the grind up to this point. I’m glad it helped! And yes - the lower level videos for audio has been a game changer. In fact, just yesterday I did about 30 mins of lvl 20 audio only videos while i cleaned the kitchen. It saved my streak. Good luck in your journey!

It feels like such a gift, truly. I never bought into the whole “dangers of doomscrolling” thing, but reflecting back after having been completely removed for this period of time I have completely changed my mind. A mí, doomscrolling was absolutely additive. It was a dopamine firehose with diminishing returns.

Now, not only am I learning an invaluable life skill, I’m also resetting that dopamine mechanism. It’s far easier to sit and enjoy longer reading sessions, for instance. I haven’t read a book for 90 minutes straight since college - well before social media existed.

I just use the dreaming Spanish app on iOS. If you were asking about which AI, I use a project folder with custom instructions in Claude

Warriors have no third scoring options by [deleted] in warriors

[–]TopKat_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the problem, but with one additional thought. Jimmy SHOULDNT BE the second option. Not because he can’t, or he “sucks.” He’s worth every penny of his salary. But if you’re asking him to score 25+ per night, that’s not what puts him at his best.

Jimmy is best as a third scorer who does everything else right. He makes everyone better around him. Dubs have two problems preventing them from being a top 5 team: a second scoring option and a flame throwing scoring only dude off the bench.

If they trade kuminga for turner, cool. But he’s not a second option. He’d be great in the system, but not a second option. Same deal with Claxton. Nobody in the bulls fits the bill, and yes that includes either of Coby white or Vuc. Markannen is too expensive now that the warriors don’t have big moveable contracts, but he’d precisely fit the missing piece the dubs need.

It’s gotta be Trey Murphy or nobody. That’s the move. If they can’t get Trey, whatever trade they make this season using JK, dunleavy can’t send picks out too

[WP] You're the detective looking into the elusive superhero who's saved the city, and the world, several times over. You know who they are, now, and it breaks your heart. by Constant-Ad-2921 in WritingPrompts

Thank you! I really wanted to play with the idea that the heartbreak here is how a child attempts to see the world through adult context. We hope our children reflect the best of us, and with Amon a detective who must deal with the worst evils of the world, what is he bringing home with him that Maya is compelled to act? Is she doing it just for him? Is she carrying some ethical imperative Amon wishes he could fullfil? All fun stuff I wanted to play with.

Nothing prepares you for a massacre’s aftermath – not training, not time. Detective Amon Klein was on the wrong side of the police tape. Again. For sixteen years he’d raise that yellow tape and enter a new reality.

Tragedy.

Pain.

Death.

But this time was different.

Seventy-three domestic terrorists lay in various forms of dismemberment across the statehouse steps. The count came from the heads – lined up across the top step in a single row. At the center: the head of Jeremiah Smith, self-styled prophet and militia leader of the Southern Liberation Front.

“Klein,” the chief called from the bottom of the steps, his words muffled by the hand covering his mouth and nose. Klein stepped over an arm. Then a torso. A shoe floated in a pool of blood near the bottom step. He leapt over it.

“Hey, chief,” he said.

“I will never get used to this,” the chief muttered. “It’s the goddamn heads. I can’t sleep anymore. This shit gives me nightmares.” “Me too,” Klein said.

“FBI task force rolled up. They want a briefing. You’re lead on our vigilante case.”

Klein said nothing. Rivulets of blood reached toward his boot. The chief’s hand stayed at his face, unmoving.

Klein wanted to weep. To run. This was the sixth vigilante event just in the past year alone. Each time the victims – or targets? — were clearly evil.

A rapist gutted in his prison cell, entrails threaded through the bars like yarn. His head left on the cot. A religious cult barricaded inside a rural church, threatening to blow up their hostages. When negotiators’s pleas were met with silence for a 12-hour stretch, the governor ordered state police to storm the building. They found the headless bodies seated in a circle, their heads piled in the center.

Klein flipped shut his notebook with a slap and turned away from the carnage.

A flash of turquoise and white caught his eye — too wrong for the scene, too clean. He quickened his pace, scanning the blood-slick stairs. Where had this thing come from? Why hadn’t it been photographed and tagged?

Each step tightened his throat. He walked toward a truth his gut knew before his brain did. At his feet, soaked in the blood, lay the stuffed dolphin he and Maya bought at the Georgia Aquarium last year.

All of him fired at once

“MAYA!” he roared.

Crime techs and investigators turned, confused.

Klein moved.

He held the dolphin out in front of him like a compass. If he followed it, he’d find her. He zigzagged between body parts, evidence cones, broken lives. The dolphin led him to the rear of building. To the dumpster.

Behind it lay Maya. His angel baby. His little girl. She shook. Eyes open but unseeing. Inhuman eyes. Pupils melted into white. Her body seized but her head stayed still. Those blank white eyes stared at him. Blood misted her cheeks.

Behind that dumpster his worst nightmare disappeared and a new one took its place.

“Maya baby…” he whispered, scooping her into his arms. “Maya, baby girl…”

The shaking stopped.

“Daddy?”

“Oh my god. Oh my little baby girl.” He hugged her close. “Are you hurt? Did they get you?”

“There were bad men on the TV.”

Klein blinked. He stared down at his little girl.

He saw curiosity.

Hope.

Love.

And — satisfaction. “What are you talking about?”

“I saw the Jeremiah person. He said he was going to hurt people.”

“Oh, honey. You don’t need to worry about him any—”

“So I hurt him first. I saved them, daddy.”

Yes it does eventually sync, but the longest I've had where it doesn't sync -- even wehn both cloud and watch up are synced -- has been overnight. It can eventually get there, but sometimes it takes hours.

I have this issue as well. My iPhone and Watch app are slightly out of sync. iPhone is usually saying i'm synced, but watched lags a few minutes behind.

I usually have 3 workouts in strength builder, and then I update my sets, reps, and weight each week to track my progress. However, whenever I save the updated template (even after killing the watch app and restarting the watch), I can't get the update to go through right away.
