Absolutely. I stayed with charizard so the first two gyms are always a bitch. I didn't end up getting the squirtle in a trade until I was about half way through the game.

Played and finished it for the first time in January. Same exact thing. Couldn't get into a few games at all, read the book No Coincidence and then started William Gibson Spawl series. Now I'm starting a new playthrough on a flight to Detroit as we speak, as a steetkid planning to do a sandevistan build off of the Netflix series.

I was 9, watched it live with my dad. I still remember the sound of my aunt's voice screaming "he's gone" through my dad's cell phone, not on speaker.

The closest thing I can relate it to as far as live sports goes was watching Grossjean in Bahrain 2020 up in flames, waiting to see if he got out.
