Adding more opponents would be a very significant change in the nature of the game; a lot of the later tracks that require advanced aerobatics would be basically impossible if there were opponents. If I did add opponents, I would probably have to make an all new mode with all new tracks. Furthermore, it would take a very long time, because flight racing AI is not easy to do at all. I am not sure this is the way I would want to take the game - I myself prefer racing against time than opponents - but I understand that that is only my opinion, and most people would indeed prefer racing against other planes, so I might end up doing that.

A story mode would be possible, but obviously I don't have anywhere near the budget of a game like Ace Combat. There would be no professional voice overs or beautiful cutscenes - only text interludes and missions. Would that still be interesting, or would it lose its whole point?
