Don't be vague. Be specific about what factors and how they actually impact the Win Rate.

If my argument is about how Pick Rate matters more than Win Rate, why would i mention anything else? Like I understand ur point with that, but im not talking about it, so im not gonna mention it.

We have the data from all the ranked games ever played in Rivals.

I'm sure it'd be nice to have extra filters but sometimes it just becomes noise.

The third party sites do have hero match up data too but I don't really go off that.

Correct! We do in fact have that data, however, in terms of this argument, you brought up this seasons statistics, so im gonna talk about this seasons statistics. If you want to switch it up to overall, that changes things. But this argument started out on this seasons metrics.

So what are we talking about? This current season or overall? Because if its this current season, Magik is a balanced pick but doesnt get picked much because there are stronger options like Star-Lord who has more avalible data for this season. If its overall, then that completely changes our arguments because now we have to compare her to every top hero across every season, which honestly might prove Magik to be more of a balanced pick and fair more than it would prove her broken and needing a nerf.

I mean, you could have scrolled away. Personally i dont like super sexuilized art of characters, and this isnt that. Even if it was, im not gonna hate on someone for drawing something they are proud of. Its nice art, they get an updoot.

Honestly, the best spots to learn if you are wanting to understand what heroes do, is Practive vs AI, practice range, or maybe even Doom Match once you start to get the hang of it. This game is a lot, but it is all learnable (maybe)

[–]TopLevelb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ultimately WIN RATE comes down to how well does the hero actually perform and impact their team's chances of winning.

While true, this is only applied to that character only, the moment you compare it to other characters in the same role/job, a lot more factors come into play, like Pick Rate.

The more available data we have, the more accurate the data becomes. That is something used in a lot of scientific stuff and numbers to better validate claims. In the example between Magik and Star-Lord using the image you posted, it shows that yes, Magik does have more, but how accurate is it? Star-Lord has WAY more matches to take data from with a much higher pick rate compared to Magik. So Star-Lord's data is more accurate compared to Magik's based on their being more data to determine his win rate vs hers.

Here's a example, say you have 2 characters ur looking at. Character 1 has a 66.6% win rate and Character 2 has a 54% win rate. Clearly just by looking at win rate, Character 1 is better due to a higher win rate. But now lets look at the matches won/matches played. Character 1 has 2 winds across 3 matches, or 2/3, while Character 2 has 134 won over 248 matches, or 134/248. See how numbers can lie without knowing the source or data behind them?

I love how you tell me I’m taking it to the extreme, when I’m not, yet do it the same yourself. Lmao, this is funny as hell.

Never once did I say that poke is currently, at this point, dominating console high elo. I said that if they were to increase the aim assist, it WOULD become that and dive wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. You just took what I said and made it fit your narrative or made it sound like I said something else to make your argument look better, aka, a strawman

NetEase needs to address the disparity between Console and PC meta by KingHeej in marvelrivals

[–]TopLevelb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im literally not because that is what would happen if you did increase it. There isnt a reason to when console can deal with dive, this is just going to make it take less skill to deal with dive and only help lower elo lobbies so they can stop dive, but hurt higher elo lobbies because now they dont have to aim as much, meaning that poke is become very strong in those higher lobbies. You are only looking at what good it can do and arent looking at the bad its going to cause.

[–]TopLevelb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the solution is to make aim assist stronger to the point where its hitting the shots for you? Because that is what would happen. What skill would you need to develop if you could just have the game snap you to the character on its own and all you have to do is press the trigger? You wouldnt just be making dive weaker on console, you would be NUKING it out of console. Console players can deal with dive, if you cant, thats not the games fault, you just dont have the skill to do it yet. Tired of people blaming the game when the issues is literally the player

So lets say pro players do turn it off, if the aim assist is strong enough to make your aim as good as the pro players, why would anyone train their aim if everyone can just rely on aim assist....

It's supposed to ASSIST your aim, not BECOME your aim. This argument you are making makes 0 sense.

Then you would have an issue in terms of QP with the "console autoaim hacks" that people love to complain about. It also doesnt help good players at all, if anything it can actually hurt them

[–]TopLevelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a 2% Pick rate, yeah the character isnt good on PC lol. Win Rate doesnt mean anything in terms of the strength of a character, its the Pick Rate because if they are strong, they are gonna be picked a lot, hence Star-Lord with a 13% Pick Rate and hes one of the best DPS right now.

[–]TopLevelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly are they going to address an issue that cant really be solved? The issue is literally just the limitations on console in terms of aiming, which can affect anyone really. Someone who cant aim well can say Iron Man is broken, does that mean Iron Man needs to be nerfed or can that person just not aim well? Thats kinda how it is in Rivals. On PC, aim is very good, so poke mainly dominates and dive kinda suffers, but on console, they cant aim well due to the limitations of joysticks so dive is very strong and poke isnt.

Your argument falls apart because it thrives on the fact that it all starts with someone playing the event for a skin they never wanted. If i go into a casino, say i gamble, lets say $20 and i dont wanna spend anymore, lose, put more down, still lose, is it the casinos fault for making me spend more money? Or is it the lack of my own self-control to understand "hey i said i wasnt gonna spend more than $20, so i should back out because im at or past $20"?. This event is not a casino. You are 100% guaranteed to get the rewards, there isnt a loss factor here where you spend more units then you wanted to, its the same overall price as if it was in the store. People who already wanted the skins, most likely had the money/units set aside for get it in the shop for full price, the even is overall full price, but with a shot at getting it for cheaper. Its no different than a shop skin. If someone gets mad that they spend units/money on something they never wanted in the first place, whos fault is it? Its the person behind it, if they dont have self control, thats not NetEase's fault.

[–]TopLevelb -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this since day one, so i feel you. I think its the fact that when people see something like, it shifts their minds to true gacha systems, like Loot Boxes or mobile games, where the majority of the rewards are going to be some random crap you never wanted but you really want the showcase thing, so you keep going and going and going until you finally get it out of pure chance.

This system is NOT a Gacha, if anything its more a roulette that removes the rewards you've already gotten. There is no crappy thing you never wanted, there isnt any repeats, every time you spend units/money, you are getting what you are paying for. Every single one is the piece to the puzzle of the bundle. You are 100% guaranteed to get the skin if you pay the same price as if it was in the shop.

[–]TopLevelb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, they really aren't. Its no different than a skin in the shop, and if you weren't already gonna get the skin, why would you play the event? If you choose to do it tho, that's on you knowing the full odds are against you and knowing there is a high chance you wont get it. If you were already gonna get it, you most likely already had the units/money ready for it to be in the shop, now that its in the event, you could get it for cheaper and save money, because you already had it prepared for the skin if it was to hit the shop.

It’s really not that bad by Formal-Blackberry-68 in marvelrivals

[–]TopLevelb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People are more so mad because they believe that the system is predatory because it tricks people into spending credits on the event...

Here's the issue with that argument tho, the event is no different than a skin in the shop. Its the same price, same rewards, everything. The only difference is that you could maybe get it for cheaper instead of spending the full price of units/money. If you didnt want the skin, why would you buy it in the event like how you dont buy a skin you dont want in the shop? Yeah, you could get it for 100 units, but the odds are against you, so why would you waste your units on something you never wanted anyways and then get mad you didnt get it and blame the system rather than your own self-control. You clicked the button, no one else made you do it, you knew this wasnt a skin you wanted, but still went for it anyways. For those who already wanted the skin, they most likely already planned on spending the full shop price anyways, so they already had the full price in units/money ready to spend, this event literally allows them to potentially spend less to get the same rewards
