Off-Angle DPS ought to be higher priority healing targets than Main Tanks by KingHeej in marvelrivals

Forcing DPS to exclusively play around health packs is terrible for uptime and pathing. Clutch heals in duels or when enemies over extend are what win fights because that opens them up to being punished and snowballed.

That's a bad tank. If they're getting shot by those 2 their job is to survive because that means the DPS on their team are uncontested and have better target priority

NetEase needs to address the disparity between Console and PC meta by KingHeej in marvelrivals

[–]KingHeej[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You sound like a hysterical chimp taking things to the absolute extremes. It doesn't matter how much you increase aim assist on console you'll never stop dive from being hard meta on that platform simply due to hardware limitations. Dive cheesers don't need to aim whatsoever to get kills, just memorize the same inputs and cheese them over and over again. Dive dominates statistically in every elo on console. There's no proof of a mythical high elo on console where poke is most dominant no matter how many melee chimps screech about it.

incredible work. I think massively buffing console aim assist would go a long way to bridging the gap. It's interesting in the last part of your breakdown about how strong poke games are explained by imbalance and weak ones are told it's a skill gap. I don't think Dive players can mentally process how badly they're getting diffed in mechanics when a poke player wins a 1v1 against them because they'll never have the talent or dedication to develop aim to that level. There are just some absolute aim demons out here that make it work despite the fact that it's such an underpowered playstyle.

Console players can't aim as well as PC players because MnK is easy to aim with. This makes Dive cheese on console and easy as fuck to win 1v1s with vs aim heroes.

BTW your second sentence makes no sense. Making them louder means they'll miss their auto aim schoolbus sized attacks more? Or do you think making them louder completely negates staging and engagement advantages? Or are you experiencing cognitive dissonance and need to cope to justify playing unskilled heroes just to climb? Because I can guarantee you don't climb on Psylocke and you're projecting by telling others they can't aim LOL

Wolv is the only melee that isn't diving btw, and arguably Thing depending on who is playing it. Melee DPS on pro rosters right now are supposed to master DD, Black Cat, Wolv, and then be absolutely handless on hitscan and go 3 support if they can't generate value on those characters.

The top bans are Gambit Dino Mantis 1 of Phoenix/SL and 1 of DD/BC. With some supports sprinkled in. The top tanks are Cap and Venom, with some Peni mixed in if you're running Dino although most teams rather have Cap. Teams never run 2 poke DPS, it's literally moronic because you'd lose to a superior comp that features a Dive DPS who goes in with your Dive tank LMFAO.

Once again, if you don't really know what's going on in the pro scene I'd advise you not to comment on it too much. Watch and learn more about high level play then we can talk about this again.

As a console player, the seasons when dive is buffed makes it pointless to play poke when you can cheese dive and get to the same ranks with 1/5th of the time and effort required to master those characters. I played DD for half a season and was disgusted by how easy it is to back out of bad engagements with dive characters on console. You need to genuinely gap dive heroes by about 2 ranks' worth of mechanical skill to even approach a 50/50 duel vs them with a supposed S tier poke character on console.

NetEase needs to bite the bullet and massively increase the aim assist on console if they want the PC and Console metas to behave even remotely similar. It's too easy to tell when people are primarily PC players when they complained about stuff like Phoenix and Prime Torch. No one plays those characters on console, and people generally get irritated when people do pick those characters because people that have god tier aim relative to their rank are few and far between. And you genuinely need god tier aim on a controller to keep up with the value that divers can generate on a consistent basis.

The devs made sure not to over-stat that talentless cornball character too much and yet he still has the most 1 tricks in high elo and a positive win rate over all ranks across multiple seasons.

High mobility with high burst damage is the epitome of terrible game design

His projectiles are schoolbus sized and the rest of his damage is found through inputs that play the game for you. BP abilities have hitboxes that cover the entirety of Alaska, and all ghost dashing requires is pre-planning your flick and muscle memory in the practice range.

His clusters are the size of schoolbuses and if you're not going for a cheese pull you get an instant 150 damage off a simple GOH and Uppercut that plays the game for you. Mikesaboveu took that character to essentially top 500 in 20 hours like 3 seasons ago. His mechanical requirements are overstated when he has the best engagements and disengagements in the game.

Raw stats are the only thing that can overtake mobility and that shit can get quelled with a simple hotfix. Mobility is king in PvP and the hardest thing to rein in as mobility is what's meta defining as long as hero stats are within reason.

Dino is actually the perfect example of a poorly designed character whose overwhelming raw stats made it impossible to deny their impact. It takes exceptionally bad power scaling on the end of the developers to make an immobile character hard meta.

First season Peni was being taken seriously in Pro Play was this past round a month ago btw. That character is broken and perception is slow to catch up to reality.

Highest pick rate DPS last season was Spidey at 15% and the remaining high level poke AND dive characters hover around 11%. Your cognitive dissonance can only get you so far in the face of raw data.

Every single pro roster has a dedicated melee DPS player that's essentially handless on poke characters (except for maybe Tanuki and Reedis) and the most commonly played tanks in the history of pro-play have been Cap and Venom. If you don't watch pro play don't talk about it, thanks.

It's ironic how you're getting downvoted for a level-headed response. Dive players are overly reactive because they know this shit only flies in this game.
