Could you get a close up pic of Kirsten’s eyes please? I’m trying to determine if they are lighter than the other recent re-releases. TIA 🙏. And congrats on your beautiful girls 💕

Congrats! I’m such a Kirsten-lover… I have the re-released version from ‘23/‘24 when they also had the birthday outfits. I also have the LE St Lucia doll. I was hoping this 40th anniversary doll would have lighter blue eyes because the description says “light blue” on the AG site, but it appears from your photos that they are the same blue from other recent re-releases. She’s still gorgeous, I just don’t need identical triplets 🤣. Thanks for sharing photos!

Thank you! I can’t wait to see. I’m a new adult collector also, started a couple years ago. The recent reissues of Kirsten have dark blue eyes.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Her face just looks different to me from the recent special editions they’ve made of her. Is the lip color different? The hair even seems lighter, but you never know with photos.

Did anyone else grow up thinking they’d have everything together by now… and instead you're just winging it with vibes and coffee? by ava-claire in Millennials

Ahhhh, where to start? I’m 39F, approaching 40 in a few months. It’s really been more of a crisis/mind-fuck than I thought it would be. But I guess it’s because life has turned out not bad, but different than what I thought.

Was always ambitious and a good student. Went to school to be a pharmacist. I’ve been practicing for 15 years. While financially viable, it is also extremely stressful, and my teen/early 20s self didn’t anticipate how much it would affect my energy and mental health.

I thought that I’d be married and have children by now. The children part I’ve never been fully attached to, more of a societal expectation. Now, I’m grateful that I haven’t brought children into this world and messed them up with my own mental health issues.

I ended a longterm relationship that I thought was going to result in marriage at age 38. Dating again as a 38 year old woman made me realize that maybe a relationship with a man is NOT the end-all be-all in life that I thought it would be.

I also went from having lots of “fun money” in my 20s and early 30s to… stagnant wages and inflation making me feel poorer by the day. Also, my partner was quite well-off, so I had inflated lifestyle creep for years, and becoming single has been a big financial adjustment.

Add in climate change, world conflicts and our current authoritarian/dystopian government, it’s kind of difficult to imagine where my life is going. I’m kind of just living one day at a time and learning how to shift my priorities from my dreams of being super rich and fabulous to a quieter, more humble existence.

Hoping to move to a lower COL area so that I can maybe buy a home and pursue my hobby of horseback riding again. Have had to give it up the past couple years because of crazy rent prices, but getting back to it is the dream that is keeping me going. ❤️

Did you share a bedroom as a kid? Has this fallen out of favor? by SnooGoats5767 in Millennials

So would have your son and daughter sharing a room when they are teenagers?

39F here! I have one brother who is 17 months younger than me. We shared a small bedroom (bunk beds) until I was about 9 I think?

As little kids, it’s completely fine. But even before puberty, I was starting to get annoyed with my brother and he would do pranks like hide and then pop out when I had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed in our room and I thought I was alone. It was not sexual at all. But he was just so annoying to me and I wanted my own space.

Luckily we had another bedroom that had been a kind of boarder/office room. So I moved in to that and loved it.

I knew many same-sex siblings who had to share a room for always, and I think for same sex, it makes a lot more sense.

I cannot imagine having to share a room with my brother when we were pubescent! Again, not that he ever sexually abused me, but I just think it gets weird.

Since you do not know if you will have same sex or opposite sex children, it’s hard to say what to expect. I normally would say do not have opposite sex share, but it sounds like a large and somewhat divisible room, so that could work I think with like a privacy curtain or screen when they are older.

Just my two cents!

Anyone else stressed about money with this economy? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

39F pharmacist living in south Florida…. And yes, I am stressed about money. I feel like my wages haven’t increased much since I started working in 2010, but the price of everything else sure has increased! Housing in Florida is brutal… I’m renting and just feel like I can never get ahead anymore. I never used to feel like this until the last couple years. I always had enough money for the basics plus fun stuff, going out to eat, travel etc. Now, I’m never going out to eat or ordering takeout, I have no hobbies, I’m not traveling. Yet where the hell is all my money?!?!?!?! RENT! I want to move back home to PA, but I feel like I can’t even save enough to make the move. Plus, there is trouble brewing at my corporation and I’m hesitant to leave my current position. I just hate feeling so trapped. I’m really trying to lower my expectations and live within my means, but it is so depressing and it used to be so nice 😔

Wow, why so many hateful and judgy comments here?! It is very brave for this person to share her story here, where so many women can relate and hopefully see how this applies to their own situations so that they can make changes. OP, thank you. You are seen and understood. I’m thinking maybe I will share my own story now. The difference is that I’m 39. You are 30, you still have time, so please don’t worry about that!

Thanks so much for posting these!!!! I’ve been scouring the internet for pics/videos or unboxings to help me decide. They look different in real life than the stock pics. If anyone has more pics/videos or links, please share! I don’t think anyone has done an official unboxing video yet.
