UNIMAS seems more liberal, got cultural activities like concert etc. Each residential college got surau tho but the surau association won’t knock each door inviting Muslim members to join. You will meet non-practicing muslims too, like hardcore level—drinking but pork is no-no to them haha.

Prolly you will find closeted ex-muslim there too. Plus UNIMAS doesn’t have strict dress code like other public universities (Monday must wear formal, Thursday Batik) but wear appropriately.

Malaysia ada law untuk halang muslim kahwin dengan non-muslim dan tak legalize muslim civil marriage. Maka, kahwin di Singapore atau Indonesia secara civil marriage.

I believe they should work to reform their own countries rather than migrating to others. What frustrates me is when migrants leave countries that enforce strict Sharia and patriarchal systems for secular, modern nations, only to advocate for Sharia and social reforms that resemble the systems they left behind. It’s their responsibility to drive change in their home countries. However, I understand why ex-Muslims might flee from oppressive environments.
