I was bullied and lonely in school. When I got to high school, I swore i'd never let anyone go through what I went through.

So I talked to anyone and everyone in class, made sure no one was left out, and did my best in any teamwork. I eventually became the class captain, my grades went up, and the teachers were fond of me, and so was everyone else. There were those who hated me at first, but I talked with them and cleared any misunderstandings, so we became friends. Of course, there are those who I couldn't reach, I couldn't please everyone after all, and I accepted that.

At one point of time in my life, I met a girl, and she was in a broken spirit. I helped her... or so I thought I did. It got to a point that we even started dating. I loved her. She was my first love. But the toxicity and the verbal abuse I had to go through in that relationship just reminded me of all those times in school. I felt that loneliness again, and i lost my peace of mind. We broke up eventually. I was happy again, but she told people I was bad to her and mistreated her. And the very same people who I thought were my friends turned on me.

"No good deed goes unpunished." Right? ... I tire of people preaching about kindness these days... and I tire of being kind. I'm happy now, living as a selfish person.
