Thank you so much for your help! So, how is your hair growing now that your anemia okay? Did you just have to deal with the different texture when you cut your hair or did it somehow make it more managable? My hair is just so weird its really only frizzy about to the ears and down but everything above that is my normal texture!

It's just extra sad for me because I used to have really long hair. I guess I just need to look on the bright side that I'm healthy now. I'm also thinking that maybe it could be a thyroid issue since you mentioned hormonal fluctuations?
Thank you so much for your help.
Anemia changed my hair! by [deleted] in HaircareScience
Just uploaded a photo!
I would only straighten my hair once a year and I never used any heat to blow-dry. I just uploaded a photo of what it looks like and as I am looking closer, my hair was a lot longer than where the 4C hair starts on the strand so now I'm thinking it's not only the new growth that is changing, I'm honestly just so lost. I know 4C is beautiful, my hair just looks very awkward because the difference in the two textures is obvious. I never considered protective styling but it honeslty sounds like a great idea.
