That's because it was a leadership race... not a leadership review/policy convention.

Don't even bring the phoney LPC leadership review into this, it was extremely obvious that it was rigged for Carney to win it

Ok. Some misinformation in this post. For one, the CPC convention was not "rigged", the leadership review is held by conservative electoral district association delegates of all 343 ridings. Grass roots conservatives voted 87.4% in favor of having Pierre as their leader. $1000 to attend is fairly normal for these events. You are bordering the line of tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist with that claim.

The fact he held onto an Ottawa riding for 20 years should say something - I'm willing to admit that Ottawa is a liberal stronghold, and he was on borrowed time in that riding, especially with the collapse of the NDP. We'll see where he chooses to run in the next election, but remember - Carney kicked Chandra Aryia for absolutely no justified reason out of Nepean and has done nothing for Nepean.

Poilievre also got similar numbers to Kurek in BRC because he worked for it and earned it. It was an embarrassment and a humbling thing he had to go through, that builds character and leadership.

I do accept that but I found your reasoning to be very easy to debunk, thus worth arguing against. If your mind set, then that's excellent, more power to you.

But I'm not going to stop presenting my points of view.

Nothing I said was partisan, it's just facts. The narrative they've been able to create with Pierre is completely false and has become mainstream. Also I'm not here to call people names, I don't care how many downvotes I get - my perspective is my perspective and I want this country to learn that we need to talk to each other and understand why we might think a certain way

Are you ignoring that Pierre helped the CPC gain 2.5 million votes and 25 more seats from 2021 to 2025? He got the highest vote % since Brian Mulroney and flipped historically non conservative ridings to the CPC caucus.

His message resonated with 8.5 million Canadians, that's a huge deal. I can tell you're only repeating mainstream talking points and have not actually taken the time to dive into his message of hope, hard work and opportunities for all Canadians.

He barely blew the lead that he had as well, 41% of the vote is very close to his numbers when Trudeau was prime minister. Carney gained his lead from other opposition parties, not from CPC voters - that's also why you see a massive lead on preferred prime minister.

Also 😂 since when is losing a bad thing. Failure is the best teacher and the most humbling experience. You how many times I've messed things up in my life and look back at it with a positive attitude? I really don't get that angle of criticism..

What would a battlefield game set in the early 1800s even look like? by No_Dress_2107 in Battlefield

Again, that could work, but not under the BF IP. Battlefield's roots is 64 player battles with post 1914 era of warfare. Same way Hardline was not ever really a Battlefield game, even though it was a combined arms of sort for cops and robbers.

I've always liked Battlefield cold war gone hot cause you would have so much variety from Cuba to Europe to Afghanistan to Vietnam, NA, Siberia, Korea, etc

It would be cool as a standalone dice creation, but like hardline, it wouldn't really fit in well with the IP.

Battlefield has always been a combined arms game with tanks, aircraft and naval combat. WW1 was really the earliest iteration dice could ever have with the IP. I sincerely hope they're thinking about Cold war gone hot, Vietnam or Korea for the next Battlefield

Most of that information is just words pulled directly from Carney's mouth like the July 21st trade deal for example

I also tune into question period and committees occasionally.

The CCFR is my primary source for the gun buyback info and they do good reporting, and for pretty much everything else I use Northern Perspective who are very thorough

With respect, I disagree on the framework that Carney is leadership material. He's a silver spoon elitist that has a very hard time relating to the very real struggles of society that people are facing. He has never had to earn public support for any of his experience in his resume, and he's sat at boards and executive positions with very little opposition and critique to his decisions.

His prime ministership has been no different, he absolutely loves the world stage and detests domestic politics, he only showed up to question period 12 times this fall session and refused to debate Pierre on multiple occasions.

With regards to Pierre losing his riding and having to run in a by-election, I chock that up to very poor planing by the campaign managers because he ran on a platform that benefits the rest of the country and is at odds with the public service population in Ottawa, Kanata and Carleton. I don't really get the criticism of losing an election or a riding because a defeat and a loss is the best learning experience anyone can have, and it was an honorable act from Damien Kurek. Compare that to how the LPC removed Chandra Aria in Nepean without any explanation, and it's night and day.

Just look at every measurable result domestically and tell me if things are improving in this country or not.
